“You’ve given me alotto fantasize about.” He motions to us and the bed and then presses his fingers against my lips. He stands up and then leans down to kiss me one more time. “I already miss your warm heat wrapped around me.” He reaches down and cups his hand between my legs, sighing when he pulls away.
CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT
FOCUS
SUTTON
I grab some clothes I’d planned to donate from my trunk and change in the garage, leaving my work clothes near the back door. I grin when I see the wet marks on the front of my pants. I’ll take them to the cleaners this week. When I step inside the back door, I apologize for being outside when they got here. They’re fine. Grinny’s sitting on the couch and Owen is bringing books over to show her. I move to the stove and turn the chili on.
“You didn’t eat yet?” Grinny asks in surprise.
“No, some things came up, so we paused dinner.”
It’s not a lie. Let’s just hope my face didn’t turn bright red when I said that. My grandmother is observant, and she’d jump on this with both feet.
Fortunately, Owen is distracting her with books.
But as I pull out a bowl, Owen turns and notices. “Is Felicity coming back?”
“I don’t know,” I admit.
“You should tell her to come eat,” Grinny says.
I pick up my phone and text her.
The consensus over here is that you should come eat this chili with me.
Felicity
Is that right?
It’s more than right. It’s a necessity.
Felicity
I’m not sure I can look at you around Grinny and Owen without giving everything away.
So don’t look at me.
Felicity
Not possible. I’ll come eat because chili sounds good.
You sound good.
Felicity
Nuh-uh-uh. None of that.
What? It’s true. I especially love it when you whimper my name and say more and harder.
Felicity
There’s no way I can come over now.
I’ll behave! I swear. The chili’s warming up. Come eat.
