I trip over my feet. “What?”

April laughs. “Ignore her. She thinks herStar Trekbrain makes sense to everyone. Interpretation: we hoped you were getting some wild and crazy sex last night on that walk.” She does air quotes aroundwalk, and I laugh nervously.

“Oh.” I fidget with the strap on my purse and laugh again. If my fake laugh doesn’t give it away, my red face will surely broadcast the truth. “He did surprise me with the way he can dance.”

I feel their eyes on me, but mine stay trained on the elevator ahead.

“Hmm. Well, there’s always tonight.” April giggles. “You’re staying back with Sofie and Scarlett, aren’t you?”

Oh shit. I’d planned on it, but now the last thing I need is to be a third wheel with them and their men…or alone with Wyatt.

“Those Landmark men.” Holly sighs. “They sure grew up hot. Too bad I think of them as brothers.”

“I know,” April says. “It’d be so convenient to fall for one of them since there are so few year-round single men in Landmark.” She presses the button once we’re inside the elevator. “Not that you need to go looking, Holly. If you’d just get over your fear of talking to Magnus, we’d be planning another wedding.”

Holly groans and I turn to her.

“Yeah, I keep hearing about the great staredowns you guys do,” I say. “What’s the deal with him?”

“There is no deal,” she says. “Back to Wyatt.”

“That reminds me! Holly had a crush on Wyatt for a while,” April says.

Holly makes a face at me and laughs. “I did…when I was like, nine, and he was fifteen.” She puts her hand on my arm. “Don’t worry. I haven’t had a crush on him in years. It was fleeting. He was just so hot andsotidy. I love a tidy man.”

We all laugh.

“Is that your hang-up with Magnus?” April teases. “All that long Viking hair isn’t tidy enough for you?”

Holly fans her face, flushing. “I am trying to talk about Wyatt and Marlow here!”

“Well, he’s all yours. Wyatt is still hot, and I’ve never been to his place, but I bet he’s still tidy too.” I almost sound convincing.

They look at me, both smiling, and like they know I’m full of shit.

When the elevator dings and we’re stepping off, Holly leans in. “I saw the way he looked at you last night, and the only one who has his attention isyou.”

The lobby is loud and the perfect escape. We step off and Sofie and Scarlett are standing nearby, looking beautiful and happy. We all hug and Scarlett motions toward the door.

“The guys are waiting for us over there. The place is close enough to walk,” she says.

I look in that direction but don’t see Wyatt. The nervous anticipation is killing me.

Sofie loops her arm through mine. “You look so pretty. I love your dress.”

“Thank you. You look gorgeous and surprisingly well-rested.”

She laughs. “I felt bad that we left as early as we did, but Theo managed to talk me into it.” Her grin drops when she gets a closer look at me. “Are you okay? Did you not sleep well?” She makes a face. “Are you not having fun?” she whispers.

“I’ve had a great time,” I tell her. “Didn’t sleep much, but that’s to be expected here, right?”

She’s still looking at me with concern as we round the corner. She knows me too well.

I try not to react when I see Wyatt. He’s highlighted by the sun from the window, looking like perfection in jeans and a button-down shirt, hair muchtidierthan the way it looked when I left him.

His body leans over me, muscles straining. Hair falling over his forehead and eyes piercing through mine, he thrusts into me so deep that I feel complete.

I swallow and blink, trying to clear the mental picture, but even fully dressed and walking toward me, I see what he looks like naked, how he felt inside me, the ecstasy of his—
