What the hell are you doing to me?
It took everything he had to force those thoughts away and flip his internal switch to daddy mode. “That’s right, buddy.” He sprinted after them, scooping up Gus.
Gus squealed with delight. “Sugar! Help me!”
“I’ll take him down, Gusto!”
Sasha ran toward them, and her hat flew off. Her blond hair flowed like a mane behind her as she threw her arms around Ezra, and Gus shrieked with laughter as they all tumbled to the ground. Ezra landed on his back, cradling them against his chest. Gus scrambled off, yelling, “Bet you can’t catch me again!”
As his son darted across the meadow, Sasha’s beautiful face came into focus. She was still sprawled on top of him, hair tousled, supple breasts pressing against his chest, hips on his. She felt too damn good to ignore. His cock took notice, and the heat in Sasha’s eyes told him she did, too.
“Mm. Feels like Daddydoeslike to play.”
He narrowed his eyes. “Since when are you such a troublemaker?”
“Maybe I’ve always been a troublemaker and you just never noticed.” With a flirtatious giggle, she got up and went after Gus, leaving Ezra lying in the grass thinking of all the dirty things he’d like to do to her.
Chapter Four
“LET’S GO, GUS,” Ezra called out Monday morning as he finished making Gus’s lunch and put it in his backpack for summer camp. He checked to make sure the child’s smartphone watch was in the front pocket. He’d gotten the easy-to-use watch for him six months ago, after Gus told him he’d wanted to call from his mother’s house when he’d had a bad dream, and Tina wouldn’t let him. Ezra had given Tina hell about that, because while Gus should be able to count on his mother to soothe his fears, Ezra didn’t trust she would. He’d programmed his phone number, along with his father’s and Sasha’s, into the watch in case Gus couldn’t reachhimin an emergency. He’d gone over what constituted an emergency with Gus until he knew the rules by heart. For example, bad dreams were not emergencies. He’d explained that while it was okay to call Ezra after a bad dream, he shouldn’t call the others. Thankfully, his little boy respected his rules about its use and had only used it once when he’d woken up with a fever. Tina had been happy to let Ezra come pick him up that night.
“Ready!” Gus ran out of his bedroom shirtless, wearing only his cowboy hat, shorts, and boots.
“Buddy, where’s your shirt?”
“I don’t need it.”
“Yes, you do. Please go put your shirt on.”
“But Dare says girls like boys who don’t wear shirts.”
Ezra made a mental note to have a talk with Dare. “Not at camp they don’t, unless you’re at the pool. Come on.” He put a hand on Gus’s back and headed into his bedroom. He pulled a T-shirt from Gus’s drawer, took off Gus’s hat, and slipped it over his head. “Who are you trying to impress anyway?”
Gus shrugged.
Ezra crouched so they were eye-to-eye. “Buddy, is there a girl at your camp who you like a little more than the others?”
He shook his head, his curls bouncing adorably.
“Then whose attention are you trying to get by going shirtless?”
His big brown eyes sparkled with excitement as he whispered, “Sasha’s.”
What kind of torture was this? He felt a prickle of guilt for what he’d said to Sasha yesterday, and for getting aroused when she was on top of him, despite the fact that she’d acted like her normal, bubbly self for the rest of the afternoon and at dinner last night, whilehewas losing his fucking mind over it.
“Gus, you don’t have to try to impress Sasha. She loves you exactly the way you are.”
“I know, but Dare says he gets extra treats from Billie when he takes his shirt off.”
“I think you need to stop hanging out with Dare so much.” The words were out of his mouth before he could stop them.
“Why? Ilovehim!”
“I was only kidding. I love him, too, buddy, but if you’re not careful, you’ll end up with a ton of cavities from all the sugar. You don’t want that, do you?”
Gus shook his head.
“Good, then how about you keep your shirt on?”
