Nailed that last assignment, right, superstar?

A quiet laugh escapes me as I steal a glance at her. There's a twinkle in her eyes when she turns slightly, catching my gaze. But it's the way she's absentmindedly biting her pencil that really draws me in, stirring a familiar warmth inside me. Flashes of those lips. Those teeth...on my cock...flicker in my mind.

Not the time, Miles. Focus.

Easier said than done when it's Milli. I try to refocus as Professor Huggins drones on. "These assignments are key for your final exam, so I hope you've kept them."

I hear some classmates mutter about tossing their old homework. I quickly type a response to Milli.

Miles

Aced it. And this one's a surefire A+. I've got a fantastic tutor, you know? She's incredibly skilled...and I'm not just referring to her tutoring sessions.

After I send the message, she glances back at me again. It's become a ritual in every class, from the very first day to now, almost like a dance we've silently agreed upon. As I catch her eye, her cheeks flush with color. It amazes me, the ease with which I can affect her, especially considering everything that's transpired between us.

Professor Huggins' voice fades into background noise as I think about Milli's relentless organization skills. Those tutoring sessions, her insistence on keeping everything in order. Seemed excessive at first, but it's paying off now.

Cam nudges me, whispering, "You still got all those assignments, right, Chasen?"

The urge to roll my eyes is strong. I want to say, "Yeah, Cam, but they're not for your last-minute cramming."

Instead, I simply give a nod, holding back my real thoughts. Being a mentor is about leading by example, even when it reminds me of my own freshman days—those times lost in parties, neglecting assignments, learning lessons the hard way.

I've been keeping my distance from the wild campus life, the parties, and the chaos. Luke's been in the thick of it but hasn't bugged me about joining in. I've got enough on my plate, especially after opening up to Milli about my real ambitions.

Telling Milli about wanting to be a doctor...it felt right. I don't know why I ever hesitated in the first place. She's always had this way of pushing me forward, making me believe in my own dreams. With her, there's no looking back, only moving forward.

"Miles, you can't just stand there all the time." Milli nudged me toward the little kid's football field just a few blocks from our house. Mom was busy with a client, and Dad was in a super important meeting with his agent. So, it was just me at home, well, with Amilia, our housekeeper/nanny. She took care of me whenever my parents had to leave the house suddenly.

I sighed a lot today, like a gazillion times. Milli saw me leaving my house, and her parents were cool, so they didn't care if she came with me to the field. It's our hangout spot, where Luke and I go after school or on the weekends.

But today felt weird. I was in remission, still kind of weak. I could feel it in how I walked, picked up the football, and did my normal stuff that used to be easy. I knew coming back wouldn't be super easy, but I also thought maybe things would be a bit like before. And as I stood in the same spot for the fifth time that week, I knew Milli was right; I needed to move.

"That's it, Miles. One step at a time. One throw at a time." Milli's cheering words bounced around in my head and all over my body. The next thing I knew, my feet were moving, and when I peeked behind my shoulder, Milli was one step behind me. Her pretty smile was all the cheering I needed to keep going until I made it to the middle of the field.

Milli jumped up and down in her tiny pink and bright yellow tutu, wearing pink leggings and her old rainbow shoes. She looked like a colorful and pretty rainbow. It made me feel happy and gave me the energy to keep going.

"You can do it, Miles! I'll be right here cheering for you. No take backs!"

My phone dings, snapping me back to reality.

Mills

I need to meet this amazing tutor of yours.

A smile breaks through, almost against my will.

Mills

Pretty?

Miles

More beautiful than anyone I've ever seen.

Mills

Smart?
