“We’ll be there and ready, and Zeev, you’ll owe me a favor in the future.”
The line on the phone clicks with those words. Walking over to the cart on the side of the room, I pour myself a finger of whiskey. Swirling it in my glass tumbler, I look out the window and wonder how I got here. I was on the path of revenge, but all I can think about right now is getting my Red back. I don’t even care about The Wolves anymore. If she wanted to walk away and live a wholesome life, I would do it in a heartbeat.
When we get her back, I will never let a day go by where she will ever doubt how I feel for her. I’m going to make it my mission to worship her beautiful body for the rest of my life. She belongs to me and she owns every part of me. Taking the last swig of my whiskey, I start working on the plan to take out anyone who has hurt my Red.
Walking up to the entrance of the docks, I see a dark silhouette figure standing next to a crate. Getting closer, the mysterious figure steps into the light, “Henry.”
“Zeev, your shipment is here.”
“Thanks, man, Let me know when you want to call in that favor.”
I signal to the men standing behind me to grab the crate as Henry walks back into the shadows.
Before heading back to my bike, I give my man his instructions. “Load the crate onto the truck and we’ll meet at the cabin.”
Reaching the cabin in record time, I get off of my bike and see Jake standing in the yard surrounded by the men who’d grabbed the weapons. Jake looks up at me as I walk closer to him. He grips my shoulders, then gruffly asks, “You ready, brother? It’s time to finish this.”
I push down the knot in my throat and nod my head, “Ready. I need my wife back.”
Chapter 25
Zeev
Driving up to the mansion we pull our three SUVs up to the gate while half of the team is coming silently through the forest. They started moving through the forest to surround the mansion. By the time we get through the gate, they should be on the property and ready. We are in the first SUV as a distraction to give the other team's time.
I hit the buzzer. A security guard answers, “Yes?”
“I’m here to get my wife. Should we do this the easy way or the hard way?”
The guard on the other side starts to sputter, “Uhh…” not sure how to answer my remark.
My lips start to upturn a little bit. This should be fun.
“Let me tell you how the easy way will go. You let my wife out here and we will go home. The hard way, you all just die. You choose. Either way, I will get my wife back.”
Once I’m finished, the speaker is silent, but then the gate opens. What do you know, maybe something will go our way.
Jake chuckles, “Jesus, I thought he was going to piss himself.”
I start to drive the SUV through the gate. “It worked, right?”
Putting the vehicle in park, I look at Jake. One team needs to do pest control and the other goes towards the front door, placing C-4 on it to set off a blast to get through. We’re nodding as the team starts to get out to survey the area. When I open the car door, we start taking gunfire. I knew it was too much to hope for an easy retrieval.
Pulling my gun out of the back of my pants, yelling at the guys who are behind me to follow, we start making our way towards the front door. I hear Jake yell at his men when I turn, I see them setting up camp using the car doors as a shield while taking out more guards. Taking cover on the side of the house, I look to see what is the best way to get to the front door. I see our opportunity when Jake takes out the last man that’s stationed on the side of the front door.
Rushing to the bottom of the stairs, I send up one of my guys. He places the C-4 on the door to blast it open. Setting the explosive to go off, we all take cover back around the side of the house. Peering around the corner, keeping an eye on the front door, the blast takes out the front door and some of the roof in the foyer is falling.
Waving my arm forward, I signal my guys to move forward towards the house. When I walk in, I'm not ready for the amount of rubble that I see. Moving more into the house, I see someone with long dark hair lying on the ground with rubble laying on top. Something inside is telling me to go check it out. My legs move forward towards the figure on their own accord. Getting closer I’m holding my breath
It can’t be, she’s supposed to be in the basement. Needing to get the material off of her so I can check her, I yell to the closest guy to help.
Looking her over, I check to make sure that she’s okay. She has a few burn marks and is bleeding from her head. I can’t hold in my emotion. Fuck, this can’t be happening. Why isn’t she awake? Brushing her hair off her forehead, I lean down, closing my eyes to check her pulse, praying that she still has one. My eyes pop open when I feel her pulse. She’s still alive. We need to move now!
Needing to move fast, I pick her up into my arms, hugging her close to my chest. Glancing over I tell the guy to radio Jake to meet me at the vehicles, the rest of them need to move through the house and clear it. “Do not kill anyone unless they’re firing at you. Find Old Lady Marelle and Nicholas and take them to the basement. Call me once it’s done.”
“Yes, sir.”
I climb back down the stairs and run to the vehicle. I see Jake moving towards it at the same time. I motion for him to get into the driver’s seat, climbing in the back of the vehicle still holding on to Blanche. “We need a hospital, NOW!
