“Please?” I whisper, slowly coasting my hand up her back, my fingers curling around the back of her neck. It’s a fucking possessive move, but damn, I want to own her. Every last inch.

“I need this,” she whimpers, her hands sliding around my front, her palms burning like fire as she slides them over my chest. My heart pounds, throwing itself against my ribcage. It beats so fucking hard for this woman, desperate for her love in return.

“Fuck, I want to kiss you. I’m not sure I can hold back any longer,” I admit, forcing space between us, the crowd around us coming back into focus.

I hear whistling and glance over my shoulder at my friends. Troy, AJ, Riley, Baxter, Dalton, and Ben are all watching us from the bar with interest, varying looks of amusement on their faces. I can’t see Sterling anywhere, but six of my friends watching me fucking squirm is quite enough of an audience already.

“Oh God,” Lia laughs shyly, burying her head in my shoulder.

“Do you want to get out of here?” I ask, hoping to fuck she says yes.

She nods, replying breathlessly. “I do.”

Grabbing her hand, I guide her through the crowd, my friends hollering dirty remarks as we grab our coats from the hook by the door and head out into the cold winter night. I flip them off, their laughter following us out into the night.

Pulling out my phone, I order a cab, warm puffs of air leaving our mouths as we wait. Lia stands beside me, her arms wrapped tightly around herself. There’s a nervousness to her body language, and I briefly rest my hand on her lower back hoping it reassures her.

“You okay?” I ask, brushing a few flakes of snow from her hair.

“I’m… Christ,” she laughs, shaking her head as she turns her body towards mine. “I’m nervous, Drix. It’s been a long time since I’ve been with a man.”

I swallow hard, both at the way she leans into me, and the trust in her eyes.

“We take this as slow as you need,” I murmur, cupping her cheek as I lean down, running the tip of my nose against the bridge of hers, my own nerves making mincemeat of my insides.

“Martin always made me feel so…” Her voice catches, and I get her meaning well enough.

My fingers slide into her hair, digging into her scalp, this feral need roaring inside of me. “A real man knows how to appreciate his woman, he knows how to adore every inch of her. I promise you right here and now, I will worship you, Lia. If you’ll let me.”

“I trust you, Drix,” she replies, and in that moment it feels like she’s just offered me the whole damn world.

Her breath hitches.

My pulse thunders in my ears as I inch closer, ready to kiss her into next week.

She moves towards me, hesitant, hopeful.

I drink her in, fucking love-drunk.

Her scent lifts up into the air, a mixture of apples and motherfucking sunshine.

I drag in a deep breath, breathing her in.

Her mouth parts, the tip of her tongue wetting her bottom lip.

A horn sounds. “Fuck,” I mutter, pulling back.

“You ordered a cab?” the driver asks through his rolled down window.

“Yes, mate,” I reply, holding the door open for Lia. She slips inside, her skirt riding up as she moves, stirring every animal instinct inside of me.

I give the driver my address, then settle onto the backseat next to her, neither of us saying a word for the entirety of the journey home. The sexual tension is intense and it takes every single bit of self-restraint I have not to pull her into my arms right here and now, but I respect Lia way too much to instigate a makeout session in front of a stranger. The only contact I allow myself is my hand covering hers, my thumb rubbing gentle across her knuckles.

When we reach home, I pay the driver, and hold my hand out for Lia to take. She slides her warm palm into mine, glancing at me shyly as the cab pulls away. Silently we walk to the front door, and I pull out my keys, my damn hands shaking as I attempt to put the key in the lock.

“Smooth, Drix. Fucking smooth,” I mutter with a laugh.

“Here let me,” Lia says, sliding her hand gently over mine, taking the keys from me as I move aside for her. That simple touch ignites a fire within me that burns so bright instinct just takes over.
