“Is there anything we can do?”
“Just do what you do.” Memphis glanced around before saying, “Looks like we’re off to a good night.”
“Oh, yeah.” Star nodded. “Tuesday nights have become popular ever since you hired Kip.”
“I’m not surprised.” Kip wasn’t any prettier or better figured than any of the other girls, but she had skills when it came to the pole and the guys loved it. “So, no issues?”
“Nothing we couldn't handle.”
“And what about the other new recruits? How are they shaping up?”
“They’re adjusting.” Nikki feigned a smile as she added, “It’s just gonna take some time.”
"They know what they signed up for.” It was cold but true. “Just make sure they understand the rules and stick to them.”
“Of course.”
“Alright, ladies.” Memphis gave them one of his boyish smiles. “We’re out. Give us a shout if you need anything.”
They were all busy saying their goodbyes when my burner vibrated with a message. I pulled it out of my pocket and was surprised to see that it was from Jenna.

Hey. I’m sorry to bother you, but something’s wrong with Luna.
Me:
Gonna need more than that.
Jenna:
She’s really sick.
I’ve never seen her like this.
Me:
She got fever?
Jenna:
She feels really warm to the touch.
I looked for a thermometer but couldn’t find one.
Me:
Doubt I’ve got one.

I was going to take her to the free clinic, but the doctor isn’t there today.
