We all nodded, but I was afraid I knew why.

Chapter 39
Ava
Jack picked me up, but we were mostly silent on our way to Casey’s house. I was shocked when we got there. I had thought Jack’s house was a mansion, but it was nothing compared to Casey’s house. We drove through a giant, opened gate and up a long driveway lined with cars. I wondered if her gardener was going to be angry when he saw all the tire tracks on the lawn.
The house itself was white with six giant pillars in the front that spanned from the first floor to the third. It looked like a cross between a plantation and the White House.
“What do Casey’s parents do for a living?” I asked in shock.
“Oh, yeah, Casey’s loaded. Her grandfather invented tape or something.”
I laughed. “Tape?”
Jack shot me a humorous look. “You know what I mean, something that we all use and take for granted. I forget what, though.”
I nodded my head, once again distracted by the grandeur of Casey’s home. “Does she have siblings?” I asked, wondering how many people lived in this place.
“No, not that I’m aware of.”
I gawped at him. “That house is for three people?”
He nodded. “I know, it’s kind of ridiculous, but people love to flaunt their wealth.”
He parked, and we walked up the steps to the giant door. “Do we knock?” I figured we didn’t because this was a high school party, but the extravagance of the house had me unsure.
He grinned and shook his head at me. “How many parties have you been to, Ava?”
“Ha ha.”
He pulled me in and gave me a hard kiss on the mouth, that soon escalated to him pressing me against the side of the house and running his hands all over my body and his hot mouth moving down my neck to my ear. “You know, since our fight, we forgot to have make-up sex. As I understand it, this is one of the perks of being in a relationship.”
I laughed and pulled him back. “I’m sorry to have deprived you of this rite of passage.”
“That’s okay, there are like fifteen bedrooms in this place, so I’m sure we can rectify that tonight,” he murmured, once again kissing my neck down to my shoulder, his hands sliding down to cup my buttocks.
“I’m not having sex with you at a party with a bunch of people all over the place.”
He pulled back, a look of mock dismay on his face. “Well, then I guess I’ll have to take you to my place, so we can have boring old make-up sex in my bed.”
“Boring?” I screeched in mock outrage.
He laughed and hugged me. “You have to know I’m kidding. Besides, there is no way I would fuck you where anyone else could hear us, let alone walk in. Fuck no.” He asserted.
I smiled as he grabbed my hand and led us inside, which was as impressively decorated and ornate as the outside.
We quickly went through the crowded foyer to the kitchen to get ourselves a beer and found Nikolai and Hannah already here.
Hannah looked amazing in jeans, black boots and a dark blue, shoulder-less shirt that made her eyes pop. Nikolai was wearing typical guy wear, similar to Jack a dark grey Henley and jeans.
“Hey, you look great!” I said.
“Thanks! Another heavily supervised shopping trip with Katya,” Hannah said, shooting Nikolai a pointed look.
Nikolai took her chin in his hand. “If you think I’m going to apologize for protecting you, we have a long night ahead of us,” he said and kissed her on the forehead.
