That hurt. He’d been thinking about her since the moment he pulled out of the garage and left her in bed alone.
“I am so sorry.”
“I gave you a simple instruction, Utah.”
“I know, Sir.”
“Did you at least eat breakfast?”
“I ate a breakfast bar on the drive here.”
“Those things are full of sugar.”
“Yeah, but they’re easy to grab and go. You didn’t say I couldn’t have them.”
She had him there.
“I just assumed you’d have a green smoothie. You said it wasn’t bad yesterday.”
“It wasn’t, but I didn’t want to take the time to make one.”
“I’ll be sure to leave one for you from now on.”
“Grrrrreat,” she muttered softly, then corrected herself. “You don’t have to go to that trouble.”
“It’s no trouble.” Unlike texting me when you’re supposed to, apparently. “I guess it’s a good thing you forgot to send me that text so I could ask you about it.”
“I said I was sorry, Li—Sir.”
“So, you did. I’ll see you tonight.”
He could overlook her forgetting to send the text before she left, but once she got to work—and had been there for over an hour?
It just confirmed this was all just a get-out-of-jail-free card, and he needed to keep his feelings in check.

Utah
She knew he was upset with her.
Yes, she had forgotten to text him but only because, in her mind, she’d already completed that task since she’d started to do it in the garage.
Her head was in a million places.
Finding the perfect dress for Friday, seeing her friend, ensuring there weren’t any more weaknesses in the hospital’s internet security… not to mention trying to figure out what her punishment that weekend was going to be.
Oh, and that little thing about not falling in love with Liam.
Utah tried to get back to work, but the idea that Liam was mad at her weighed on her heart. She decided to apologize in person, but wanted to do something more than just say she was sorry. But what she wasn’t sure.
Flowers?
Maybe. His garden at home was beautiful, but she wasn’t sure he’d appreciate getting flowers at the office.
He didn’t have a sweet tooth, so candy was out.
She could send him lunch, but she knew sometimes he had lunch meetings outside of the hospital with other executives in the health care industry. Plus, it wasn’t very original, considering he’d done it for her yesterday.
