Page 86 of Possessive Alpha

A wolf growls, and an unfamiliar man yells down the phone. “Someone is trying to fucking kill me! Why is someone trying to kill me?”

Click.

In the near distance, the growl of a furious wolf erupts. A dull thud comes next. Then a car alarm blares.

Nothing is visible from the house. There’s too much forest for that. But whatever just happened is on pack land.

It sounds like Adrian might have sent more enforcers after my sister and Nathan Blackshaw just stepped right into their trap.

Jackson twists to face Regan. “Baby, can you?—”

“Get Riley and the non-fighters inside and make sure nothing comes through the back door?” Regan interrupts Jackson. “Got it. Go. I’ll be okay.”

“Ty?” Jackson literally tears the clothes from his body and starts running. He’s a man one second, a large black-brown wolf the next.

Ty turns to me, and I know what needs to happen next.

“I can’t shift in time to help. Go,” I tell him.

He kisses me hard on the lips and takes off, shifting on the run as only an alpha can.

I look for Clara, wanting to make sure she’s safe.

But she’s gone.
