Mariah's breathing grew ragged as I took her higher, her pleasure spiking when I slipped two fingers into her drenched folds. I pressed them in and out of her as I flicked my tongue over her clit in quick strokes. With a sudden gasp, she shuddered, her body arching again as she came, her sweet juices making me hunger for more of her.

I could no longer deny my own need, and I made my way back up her body, burying my face in her neck as I breathed her in.

Positioning my aching cock at her entrance, I slowly slid inside, savoring the feel of her slick warmth enveloping me. She gasped at the sensation, gripping my shoulders as she stared into my eyes. I stilled for a moment, holding her gaze as our hearts beat in perfect unison.

“There aren't enough words in the world to express how much I love you,” I murmured, brushing her hair back from her face.

She smiled at me. “We don't need words.”

And we didn't. We moved together in a dance as old as time. Every thrust, every kiss, every caress was a declaration of how deep our bond ran. We were two souls connected on a level that transcended language, expressing ourselves in the most intimate way possible.

We clung to each other as the tension built within, climbing higher and higher toward the peak of pleasure. Her muscles clenched around me as her orgasm took hold, with my own body responding to hers. Every nerve ending was alive and on fire as we rode the crest together, falling over the precipice while wave after wave of bliss wracked our joined bodies. We clung to one another long after we were spent and sated.

Finally, I collapsed onto the bed beside her, gathering her close before I pulled a blanket over us. Our breath still came in ragged pants, but our hearts were beating as one. I caressed her face, marveling at how lucky I was to have found such an amazing woman. I didn't think I would ever take for granted that fate had blessed me with such a perfect mate—someone who understood me better than I did myself.

We had created something extraordinary. A bond of love and trust that would last forever. This was the love every person dreamed of, and I was eternally grateful to have found it with her.

I kissed Mariah on the forehead, my arms encircling her body, and my hand resting on her stomach as I smiled.

“This is just the beginning for us.”

Chapter 30

Mariah

The scorching sun of the Texas summer beat down mercilessly as sweat poured down, and my hair stuck to my damp forehead. I was going to be a puddle on the ground if we didn’t get started. Nine months pregnant in the peak of summer was something else.

The baby squirmed inside my massive belly, kicking my ribs. I grimaced. “If you’re running out of room, there’s only one thing to do for it,” I muttered.

But he or she didn’t seem ready to come, no matter how much coaxing I did. Evan and I had decided not to find out what the baby’s gender was, wanting to enjoy the anticipation and surprise. We’d find out soon enough unless this baby proved to be as stubborn as its father. Hopefully, any day now, our lives would once again change forever. Still, we’d scheduled an induction for next week just in case.

“You’re going to sweat right through your dress, Mariah,” Abi said, dabbing at my face with a tissue. She sighed. “And all this hard work on your makeup. You look like you're about to melt.” Abi grabbed one of the thick, card stock programs folded with gold lettering, fanning me with it. I slumped in relief at the cooling effect.

“Thanks, Abi. I swear it feels like I'm carrying a furnace inside me.”

She chuckled. “Well, no one ever said growing a dragon was easy.”

“Here, maybe this will help you cool down.” Analise grabbed a small spray bottle from the dressing table and spritzed my face with a refreshing mist. The droplets evaporated quickly in the heat, but it left my skin slightly cooler. “Just be careful not to sweat through your dress. We don't want any embarrassing wet spots on your big day.”

I snorted. “Thanks, Ana.”

She and Mason had made it down for the mating ceremony, and I was thrilled to have her here with me on my special day. Shockingly, the two of them had been seeing each other for months now. I secretly hoped it would last, though I wouldn’t jinx it by saying so to Analise.

“Phew.” It was hard to catch a full breath these days with the baby pressing on all my vital organs, taking up all the room inside. “Do I have time to sit down and take these shoes off for a bit?”

Whose idea had it been for me to wear heels anyway? Maybe no one would notice if I walked barefoot down the aisle. I was thrilled to declare my love for Evan in front of friends and family, and more than appreciative for all the hard work that’d been put in to make it such a special day, but part of me just wanted to put my feet up and drink a tall glass of iced tea.

Analise poked her head outside the tent we’d gathered in. “Looks like it’s about time, so no taking your shoes off. No telling if those massive things would ever make it back in.”

I shot her a wry look. “Thanks a lot. Way to make me feel beautiful.”

She laughed and came to my side, taking my hands. “You're gorgeous, swollen feet and all. Just look at you.”

She turned me so I faced the mirror.

The wedding dress I wore was a beautiful, strapless white number with an intricate lace and a bead bodice that sparkled in the sunlight. It’d been specially fitted and tailored to accommodate my baby bump, so it fit like a glove and hugged all the right curves.

“Those knockers are giving mine a run for their money,” Analise said.
