“Oh, for the love of the Goddess, I am not contagious.”

“You don’t unders?—”

The door slammed open. Cannon strode back into the room, determination on his face. “Stand back!”

Royce and Mal jumped at his command, but I was frozen in place as I watched him raise his right hand, and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

He fired twice—once in the leg and once in the arm.

Crashing to the floor, I screamed in pain. “You absolute cocksucking motherfucking asshole!” I yelled at him as I rolled in pain. “Why the hell did you shoot me?”

He was standing over me. “Shift.”

“You shift, you dickwad,” I growled. I pressed my hand over the wound, and my wolf moved within me, restless.

He shot me.

You’re healing.

I was. Quickly, I dug my fingers in and pulled out the first bullet. “I really, really don’t like you.” I glared at him as I tossed the fragments aside.

“Where did you find a gun?” Royce asked in bewilderment.

Cannon ignored him as he crouched beside me. “Give me your arm.”

“Fuck off.”

“Pup! Give me your fucking arm before Doc has to cut you open to get the bullet out.”

“Now you want to show concern?” I inched away from him as I tugged at the open wound. He’d hit me high up on the arm that it was difficult to reach. “Here’s a tip, Alpha. Don’t fucking shoot people!” Cannon moved toward me, and I bared my fangs. “You even think of coming closer, I will gut you,” I hissed.

“Can I help?” Mal asked behind me. “You’re making me nervous the way you’re digging in there, girlie.”

“Leave me alone.”

“Pup,” Cannon warned.

“Fuck you.”

“Pup!”

Turning, I looked up at him as he towered over me. “Fuck. You.”

Royce shoved his alpha backward and stepped in front of him. “Kezia, let us help you. Please.”

“Your alpha is a fucking lunatic.”

“He has his moments,” Royce agreed. “Please, Kezia. You’re bleeding badly.”

I looked at my arm. “I thought I was healing?”

“The second bullet was silver.”

All three of us gaped at him.

“What is wrong with you?” I demanded incredulously.

“We need to see it for ourselves,” he said gruffly. “To figure this out.”
