“She doesn’t know. Or so she says, but I believe her. She said Syn showed up at her house but wouldn’t talk about it.” Fuck! That’s not what I wanted to hear.
“Shit. Okay. We need to figure this shit out.”
“I know, Rylan. We will.” I don’t say anything; I just end the call and go back to bed. I toss my cell on the bedside table and snuggle back into her. And that’s where I stay, by her side, where I belong.
I must fall asleep because the phone ringing awakens me. I groan as I roll over and grab it.
“Yeah?”
“We are having a meeting of the Kings in four days.”
“Dad? What’s going on?”
“We have things we need to discuss, and all members of the Kings are to be there,” he says. What the hell is going on?
“What’s it about?”
“I can’t discuss it. Just be there. We’ll meet at Chaos.” The line goes dead, but something isn’t right. Meeting at Chaos? Since when do we meet at Chaos?
I dial Silas and let him know what my dad said, but he and Levi already got the calls, too. They’re just as confused as I am.
“You okay?” I hear Syn’s groggy voice next to me. I set the phone down and roll over to look at her.
“No.”
“What’s wrong?”
“Everything, Syn, Everything is wrong.” I start to get up when she presses her hand to my chest to keep me down. I raise an eyebrow at her when she climbs up and straddles me. She grabs my cock in her hand and slowly strokes it, getting it hard. When she’s satisfied it’s hard enough; she lowers herself down my length. I let her do it. Syn starts to ride me slowly at first. I reach up and slap a hand on her ass, and she yelps before riding me faster. Her body bounces up and down on mine, and I love that feeling. I let her take what she wants from me, and after how I used her body last night. She deserves a little reward.
When she starts rolling her hips, I know she’s close. I grip her hips in my hands and help her. I push her down, and she moans loudly before she lets go and releases. I’m not far behind her. I come inside her when she leans down and presses her lips against mine.
“I love you,” she whispers. But will she still love me when I do what I plan on doing?
Chapter 22
Tamsyn
I feel … great. We went back to Ry’s dad’s house after the night we spent together, and now we’re back at school. Or at least I am. I don’t know where Rylan is. He hasn’t answered his phone at all today, and I haven’t seen him in two days. It makes me wonder if he’s changed his mind about being with me. No. It wouldn’t be that. But I’m not promised to him either. I sigh as I stand at the end of class and grab my bag, slinging it over my shoulder. Angel follows me as we head out of class and out into the common area. We walk toward the cafeteria and go inside to get something to drink. I grab a water and pay for it before we find an empty table and take a seat to relax for a few minutes.
“So.”
“So?”
“You stayed with Rylan the other night. What did you guys do?” she asks, already knowing what we did. Well, not in detail; she doesn’t.
“Do not start. Weren’t you with Silas?” I ask, raising an eyebrow at her. She smiles and nods her head.
“He’s so good in bed, Tamsyn. If I don’t get chosen for him, I’ll die.” I laugh at her dramatics when we hear the first shot being fired. People scream, and tables are flipped with people hiding behind them. Some guy flips ours and shoves us down when I hear another shot fired. What the hell is going on? Then I hear it.
“Tam! Come on out, Tam!” My stomach drops to my feet. It’s Brady. He’s going to kill me. That’s why he’s here. He’s going to kill me. My heart races as I look to Angel.
“The door. You can run,” she says, nodding toward the door behind us. I glance at it and back to her as tears blur my vision.
“What if I don’t make it?”
“He’s after you?” The guy behind the table asks. I nod my head when I hear tables being kicked and more people screaming. I see the fear in his eyes as he peeks over the top of the table.
“He’s still on the other side. Make a fucking run for it. I’ll hold onto the table.” I want to shake my head, but if he finds me, I’m dead. I swallow hard as I nod my head. The guy grabs the center of the table and lifts it slightly to get a better grip on it. Another shot is fired, and people scream louder. I’m trembling, but I take a few deep breaths and nod my head. The guy peeks over the table once more but shakes his head. He ducks back down and whispers for me to wait a minute. After a second, we hear more tables and chairs scooting across the floor. He looks again and whispers, “Now.” I waste no time. He stands up, holding the table as a shield for me, and I race out the back door. I can still hear the screams coming from inside the cafeteria, and it causes me to run faster. There’s nowhere to go except the parking lot, and my car isn’t over here. It’s on the other side of campus. I glance around when I hear him roaring with anger. I take off, rushing into the parking lot and ducking behind cars.
