I can’t wait to hear all about it.
Hmm…I never would’ve imagined the day would come when I would discuss my dating life with my sister. I check my reflection in the mirror one more time before grabbing my keys and my bag. It’s time to meet up with Cam, and I can’t get to the restaurant fast enough.

As soon as I walk in, I see Cam sitting in the lobby with his forearms resting on his legs. I quickly take in his appearance and try to maintain my composure. I’m so used to seeing Cam in his athletic attire, and tonight he looks hotter than ever if that’s even possible. He’s wearing a V-neck T-shirt, the sleeves hugging his biceps perfectly, and dark blue jeans that look like they were made especially for him. I’ve seen him in regular clothes before, and each time I’m reminded the man could wear anything and still make my knees go weak.
“Hey, you didn’t cancel on me,” Cam exclaims, practically leaping to his feet.
My eyes grow wide. “What? Did you think I was going to?”
He shrugs. “I cancelled on you first…I still feel bad about it, so I’d understand if you did.”
“Don’t worry about it. It doesn’t matter because we’re here now.”
A broad smile spreads across his face.
“Yes, we are.”
Cam lets the hostess know we’re ready, and we follow her to a cozy table near the bar.
“Is this table okay with you?” Cam asks.
“It’s perfect.”
Cam has the best manners, so naturally he pulls out my chair for me. As soon as I sit down, I open my menu.
“I’m starving,” I blurt out.
“Good, because so am I,” he says. “Hours of running around with kids will do that to you.”
I giggle. “Isn’t that the truth? I love to tell people I have seventeen children. The looks I get are priceless.”
“Oh, I bet.” He exclaims. “It really is the best job, isn’t it?”
I nod. “Even though some days I’m beyond exhausted, I don’t think I could do anything else.”
“I feel the same way,” he agrees. “Of course my parents think I should be doing more with my degrees.”
The server interrupts to fill our glasses with water and take our drink order. I indulge and order a glass of merlot since it’s not a school night.
“Degrees, as in multiple?” I ask after she leaves. “Very impressive.”
He nods. “Yes. Believe it or not, I have a degree in business management. But I always knew I wanted to work with kids, so I decided on a double major with the second degree in education.”
Wow. Is there anything more attractive than a man who’s hardworking and smart? The answer is no.
“I’m guessing your parents would’ve preferred you spend your days in some corporate high-rise office instead of playing sports with kids?”
“Of course,” he says. “That’s one of their favorite topics of conversation, and we spend most of our time together discussing all the possibilities and opportunities I’m missing out on.”
I press my lips together. “Ohhh, I’m learning all your secrets tonight. Keep them coming.
He gives me a mischievous look. “I don’t have any secrets. Do you?”
I tap my fingers together like I’m plotting to take over the world. “Yes, I’m full of deep, dark secrets and mystery.”
“Ah, I’m intrigued,” he exclaims, leaning closer to me.
