“Are you having fun?” I ask.
He wraps his arms around me and pulls me close to him.
“Of course, I’m spending Sunday with you. I don’t think you realize how many weekends I wanted this.”
I grin widely. “I know the feeling.”
We spend the rest of the evening talking about Eliza and Mason’s wedding. Having Cam here with me feels right. It’s been a long time coming, but we finally made it.

When I arrive at school, Cam is waiting for me in the parking lot. I pull up next to him and open my car door. He greets me with a tight hug and three kisses.
“This is a nice way to start a Monday,” I say with a grin.
“I think so too.”
I grab my Mary Poppins bag, and we make our way toward the entrance, holding hands.
“Are you sure about this?” I ask before we walk into the office.
“I’ve never been surer of anything.”
When we walk inside, Ms. Wilcox and Ms. Lewis are there. They both look up and see Cam and I holding hands.
“Yes, Serena and I are together,” Cam announces. “I can assure you our relationship will not interfere with us doing our jobs. We both love this school and our students more than anything. We hope you can support us.”
Wow. He got straight to the point.
A confused expression forms on Ms. Lewis’s face. “I thought you were already together.”
Cam and I glance at each other and smile.
“Anyway, if it doesn’t affect our school, then it’s none of my business,” Ms. Lewis says before walking to her office.
Ms. Wilcox smiles nervously. “Congrats you guys.”
“Thanks, Britney,” I say.
The phone rings loudly, and she answers it, giving us a wave.
Cam and I walk through the halls not letting go of each other’s hand. The students haven’t arrived yet, so it’s the perfect time. When we get to the lounge, Lilly is making a cup of coffee. Here we go.
Cam grasps my hand more firmly. She looks toward the door, and her eyes land on us. My heart is racing as I wait for her reaction—tears, fireworks, threats.
“Morning, Lilly,” Cam says nonchalantly.
“Good morning,” she replies curtly, not taking her eyes off our hands.
“Have you decided when we’re having the department meeting?” he asks.
She looks at her phone. “Thursday at three-thirty. I’ll be sending an email today.”
“Great, thanks.”
“Morning, Serena,” she says after a few seconds.
“Hi, Lilly,” I say. “I love your top.”
