LILIM AND LUST
BY EMMA DEAN
Soraya tossed back the lemon drop shot, holding the gaze of the gorgeous man who’d bought it for her. Neon lights flashed and music pulsed all around them, making the walls and floor vibrate with the bass.
He was beautiful for a human – dark hair and hazel eyes. Tall too, which was always nice, but not necessary for what she needed. Soraya set the shot glass down on the bar and pushed off the counter, sliding through the other humans like a fish through water.
She only had eyes for the man who’d bought her a drink – who’d given her the signal he was interested in her…
Who would give her what she needed whether he knew it or not.
It was adorable the way he looked shocked she would take him up on his silent offer, eyes dropping to her tits and then the way her hips swayed as she walked – perfectly in time with the music.
A soft soprano humming along with the EDM was a sharp contrast that made this whole place feel like something out of a fever dream. She hummed along, feeling that sound weave around her and the man like she was casting some kind of seduction spell.
But there was no magic in what she was doing.
No, Soraya hummed with the voice she’d been born with, sliding through the crowd with the grace her body had always possessed, and stared at the man with her very human eyes, even if the color of them was a bit…
Unusual.
Taking his hand in hers, she stood up on tiptoe, so her lips were against his ear, making him shiver.
“Would you like to get out of here?”
Those pretty eyes looked at her in surprise, but he smiled like he couldn’t believe how lucky he was. A single nod gave her the consent she needed, and Soraya pulled him along with a playful smile, letting him get a good look at how short her little black dress was – the slit all the way up to her hip and strategically placed so he didn’t quite see anything she didn’t want him to.
Black tights with the hem ending just below her ass cheeks to give him a flirty view – her black combat boots ridiculously comfortable. The cropped leather jacket she wore over the dress was too warm in a place like this, but it was cold outside, and she wanted to blend in as much as possible.
It was vital that she look just like everyone else – that she passed as human.
They left the club, laughing as she pulled him down the street toward the subway. He must have lost his mind though because he pushed her into an alley, grinning down at her like a single moment was all she planned to take from him.
No, she was going to take everything from him.
It would take all night, and he’d be begging her to stop before the morning sun rose, but Soraya supposed a little snack before they got started wouldn’t hurt.
“Scared?” the human asked, giving her a playful grin as he pulled her deeper into the alley until they were near the door that the bartenders at the club used to take out the trash.
“No.” She grinned up at him when he pushed her against the wall and wrapped her arms around his neck. “Are you?”
“Should I be?” He was so cute.
Her instincts were spot-on as always. This man was just a little bit dangerous, but not the kind that would try to hurt her. He just wanted to play at being the big, bad wolf who would eat her right up.
She loved these kinds of games.
Pulling down, Soraya pressed her lips to his, sighing in contentment when he hesitated – almost like he wasn’t sure he should be doing this despite all his teasing words.
He tasted of lemonade and mortality, the flavor of sweet decay on his tongue.
The sound of a lighter sparking made her eyes pop open in surprise, and Soraya slid her gaze to the man who hadn’t been there just a second ago.
He was fucking massive.
The glow from the streetlight hit one side of his face, casting the rest of him in shadow, but the flame from his lighter made his golden eyes look molten as he lit a cigarette.
Shit.
