He bends down and grabs my face, biting down on one of my earlobes. I can’t help the moan that escapes me.

“I don’t think it’s a secret that I want you.” He looks between my eyes, “And I think you want me too. If that little moan just now was any indication.”

I push his hand away from my face and stand.

“You’re my boss.”

He gives me that damn smirk again. “So, that means I’m in charge.”

I slap my hands down on my legs in frustration. “You’re also my best friend’s dad.”

He cringes, and I know that reminder is a slap in the face. “I know. And I shouldn’t want you and you’re too damn young for me, but what’s a little fun? No one has to know.”

“Including your wife?”

He walks toward me, and I back into the wall behind me, with nowhere else to go. Not that I want to escape. I should want to. But I don’t.

He rests a hand above my head, caging me in as he stares down at me. “Yes, I’m married. But believe me when I say we don’t have a relationship.” When I give him a questioning look, he goes on. “I’m working on trying to get a divorce now.” He sighs. “She’s being a pain in my ass, but if all goes as planned, it’ll all be finalized in a few months.”

“I don’t want to hurt Court.”

I’m thinking of every excuse in the book, but right now, none of that seems to matter. I do want him. I’ve never done this before, but it would be nice to let go for a bit. I’m always worried about work, or paying rent, or making sure I have groceries. Maybe it’s time to do something that isn’t so responsible.

He runs his nose along my neck, inhaling me, and it causes goosebumps to erupt on my skin.

“We won’t. The only way we can keep this a secret is if we do this here.” He looks between my eyes. “And I am still married, so I can’t give you more than this.” He flinches at his words. “That sounds really shitty. If you don’t want to do this, I’ll understand. I just needed you to know that I want you.”

Maybe that should sting more than it does, but I’m not looking for a relationship. Especially with a man I just met.

“But why me?”

“Trust me. I wasn’t looking for a woman half my age to fuck.” He runs a hand through his hair, causing the strands to stand up straight on his head. “I shouldn’t want to do this, but I think we both need it. Am I wrong?”

“No. How long will we be staying late for this case?”

He rubs the side of my face, causing me to lean into his touch. “Probably about two weeks, why?”

“Then we do this for two weeks. That’s it. Then you’re just my boss. Nothing else.”

I can’t believe I’m agreeing to this, but it’s only for a short time.

He leans down toward my mouth. “If I only have two weeks, I’m not wasting any more time.” As soon as he speaks the words, his mouth lands on mine.

CHAPTER FOUR

THEO

Goddamn. Her lips feel even better than I imagined. The soft moans that escape her as I push my tongue into her mouth are making me harder than I already am. I grab the hem of her shirt, lifting it over her head.

“Jesus Christ.” She’s standing in front of me in nothing but her bra and knee length skirt, and she’s fucking stunning. She may be a lot younger than me, but Tessa Jones is all woman.

She wraps her arms around herself, suddenly acting shy. I grab her arms, pulling them down.

“Don’t hide yourself from me. You’re a goddamn sight.”

She looks away, and a small smile tugs at her lips. I move in closer to her, pulling her back into my arms.

“You may not be mine for long, but while you are, I’ll make sure you never doubt how beautiful you are.” Her cheeks turn pink, and I wonder if the rest of her body turns the same color when she’s in the throes of passion.
