Groans go up as the others feel it too. The drops fall faster, cold against my skin.
Jay starts toward the beach, then pulls up."Guys. Where the fuck are our clothes?"
In Brooke’s bag.
I don’t care about walking around naked—the guys have seen everything in the changing room. But I’d rather not do it at camp with kids and staff running around.
"Don't do anything stupid," Kat warns, shielding her eyes with a hand.
In a flurry of laughter, they’re gone.

The sand slips under my feet as I run up the hill. We all head for the car, nerves and excitement twining together in a bundle of pulsing energy.
"Think they can find other clothes?" Mari pants.
"They will. But I don't only have their clothes…" Brooke grins.
"My phone is in there!" Miles hollers after us.
They’re chasing us, and closing in by the sounds of it.
My lungs burn from the effort. I need to work out more.
The moon shines overhead as I bolt for one of the cabins that doesn’t have campers’ gear outside the front door.
It’s empty, but it’s also dark. I don’t want to hit the lights, so I take a few steps inside. The girls follow me in.
“Quick, hide!” I whisper.
Brooke ducks behind the headboard of the bottom bunk. I slip into the closet. Chloe squats behind a dresser. Where the other girls went is beyond me, but Brooke’s the one who matters, with her bag of clothes.
My heart hammers against my ribs.
“They didn’t see us,” Brooke whispers loudly.
Chloe shushes her.
The door creaks open, and every muscle in me tightens. It's like a horror movie. I can’t see who’s in the doorway as it swings wide. A single footstep makes the boards groan, then another. The huge figure, a dark silhouette, appears around the door.
"Who's there?" it asks.
Clay.
"Out the window,"Brooke whispers.
I yank the closet door open and lunge across the floor. Clay’s moving the same way.
The girls make it out. I'm reaching for the sill when a hand grabs my ankle and tugs me against a hard body.
"You're in trouble," he purrs in my ear.
I twist to look back over my shoulder, taking in the T-shirt with the Kodiak Foundation logo illuminated by the shaft of moonlight from the window. It's stretched across a thick chest and bulging biceps.
"Seems like skinny dipping in the lake after dark should land you in trouble too,” I toss breathlessly.
