Another moan and whimper, and he drove her crazy.

He loved the taste of her and knew he would quite happily lick her pussy all night long. The torture could only last so long and seeing as he wasn’t cruel, the fourth time he teased, he didn’t let go and allowed her to find her orgasm.

Chapter Five

Jade was already confused when it came to men. Braxton had come to her at the bar, walked her home, carried her into her apartment, and spent the night licking her pussy. He’d brought her to orgasm twice, and then he left without a word. Jade had been too exhausted from his teasing to do anything other than curl up on her bed and go to sleep.

Now, it was another week and another Monday at work. There were no new lines dropped or products showcasing. Mondays were either slow or busy.

Today was a slow day. She’d already stocked the shelves, which she was able to work through between customers. These were the kind of days she used to love as it helped her get caught up on all the stock, cleaning, and the general pieces of work that were tedious, but needed to be done. Lucille was never in on a Monday.

Standing behind the counter, Jade tried not to think about her mystery man. A man who had saved her, taken care of her, took her virginity, licked her pussy, and yet she still didn’t know his name.

Running fingers through her hair, she did something she tried not to do, and glanced at the clock. Why weren’t the hands moving faster?

It was like time had a joke to play, and she was the butt of it. Pursing her lips, she moved from the counter and went to check on the shelves. But everything was in order, nothing was out of place, and she had to keep trying not to think about her nameless mystery man, who was driving her to distraction. She wasn’t used to this or any other kind of attention.

She had lost count of the number of men who didn’t want her. Those stupid dating apps with the whole yes and no, or tap that or not, or whatever it was.

“Get a grip, Jade.” She shook her head, and then moved behind the counter. She only had an hour left.

During the last hour, a couple of customers came in. One of them regular, another new, but clearly excited about being in a cosmetics store. She didn’t ask for assistance, but Jade rung her up and saw that she purchased the whole range of cosmetics, which meant she might be a new and returning customer.

Jade was polite to each, but as the clock ticked on to six in the evening, she was more than happy to call it a day. She closed and locked the shop, did her usual duties of checking the till, counting it, dealing with it, and then turning off the lights and letting herself out, while locking the door. Lucille had it programed so she knew when the shop was locked up. Jade didn’t think it was down to a lack of trust, but just keeping an eye on her shop.

With her services no longer needed, Jade began the walk back to her apartment, which wasn’t far. It was why she liked her job so much. She’d gotten into a steady routine, and why she didn’t bother with driving lessons.

Jade wasn’t quite sure when her mystery man joined her, but she felt him close in. She didn’t even need to turn to know it was him. Her hand was on the pepper spray in her jacket pocket, if she needed to use it. One glance in a passing car’s window, and she saw his reflection at her back. She couldn’t help but smile because it felt so good for him to be there, and close to her as well. She took a deep breath and loosened her hold on the pepper spray.

He placed a hand at her back, and they walked toward her apartment. Before she even got a chance to type in the code to let herself into her apartment, he was there, pressing the code in. Jade didn’t want to know how he had gotten access to her security code.

They walked into the elevator, and she looked at him. To some women, he might seem like a monster, scary. The scars on his face had faded, but she didn’t mind them. She wanted to ask him about them, but if he wouldn’t give his name, she doubted he’d talk about his past.

“Good evening,” she said. She didn’t know if he had changed his mind on liking small talk or not, but either way, she was going to try. “I would add your name, but I don’t know it.” She licked her lips. “Did you have a good day?” She chanced a glance toward him, and he kept staring at her. Jade couldn’t read him.

“I don’t know if you had a good day or a bad day. I had a slow day. Not a lot of customers. The ones I did have were nice. That was good. I like those kinds of days. I do prefer busy days, so I don’t have to think a lot, but we can’t always get what we want.” She had a feeling he got what he wanted. All he had to do was snap his fingers and anything he wished would be granted to him. “The weather is cold.”

The elevator stopped and they stepped out of it, going toward her door.

Braxton took the key from her hand and slid it into the lock. She couldn’t help but look at his throat. Ink decorated his neck.

“Did it hurt?” she asked.

He turned his head and she saw the glare in his eyes. “Did what hurt?”

“Your ink? Your, ugh, your tattoo? Did it hurt?”

“No.”

They stepped into her apartment and Jade reached for her jacket and was about to take it off when his order stopped her.

“Take your clothes off,” he said.

This made her stop and turn toward him. He’d already closed the door, and she heard him lock the bolts into place. There was nowhere for either of them to go.

“What?”

“You heard me, take your clothes off, now. I want you naked.”
