I cut off the engine, grabbing my things to get out when something catches my eyes. A hulking figure leans against the door frame. He has to be the largest man I've ever seen. His head easily comes level with the tops of the door. I have the feeling that most people look up to him.

His head was down, focused on what I assume was a phone, but it was impossible to see in his large hands. Shit! How big was he?

I should probably stop looking, but it wasn't everyday that I saw a man like him. Someone who looks like he was painted on the ceilings of a mausoleum.

His biceps flexed beneath the sleeve of his black t- shirt, his thumb sliding across the screen idlily. His shoulders were broad, rounded and hard. I risked a look at all of him, and there was nothing I could have made better.

This man was all stone and bad decisions. Now my stomach flipped for an entirely different reason.

Dressed in a simple black t-shirt, black cargo pants and boots, he looked lethal.

“Is he another study participant?”

He looks up, the light casting a golden light over the sharp lines of his face. His eyes are reflective as their radiance clashed with the sun and a frown pulls at his full, dangerous mouth.

He is gorgeous.

And I'd been staring like an idiot.

Heat spread through my chest as I quickly gathered my things. All of a sudden it was too hot in the small confines of my car.

"You think it'd be illegal to look that good" I muttered as I stepped out, shutting the door behind me.

I keep my eyes on the door, trying to maintain some level of self respect after. I don't know how much time I lost drooling over a stranger but my brain was back in working order so it wasn't happening again.

Something warm and rough gripped my wrist before my fingers could curl around the handle. I try to jerk back but I'm locked in place. I turned to see the man staring at me in annoyance as if I were the one grabbing him. Maybe I am losing my mind.

The man hung up the phone and pulled me towards the other side of the building. "I need you to come with me," he said, not bothering to wait for an answer.

"Hey!" I shout, digging my heels into the ground as I pull my arm back. "Get off of me!"

I stumble forwards, my resistance barely registering. I could hear my heart beating in my ears, the further we got from my car and the facility the sharper my breath came.

We round the corner and I become aware of just how alone me and this man are. He stops, turning to me and releasing my hand. My arm shoots to my chest. I take a step back to create some distance.

"What do you think you're doing? " I snap.

"Relax. I just need to ask you some questions," He said as if he didn't just manhandle her through the parking space.

"Relax…relax?" I speak through gritted teeth. "That's easy for you to say, you weren't the one weighing the possibility of kidnap!"

His face is a stoic shell. " You wouldn't be my first choice of victim so you can rest assured you will be going home after this."

My temple pulsed, the spike of anger making my voice tight. "Then what the hell is this?" I motion between the two of us.

"Hey there," his voice was low as if he were trying to placate a stubborn mare. “I just want to ask you some questions."

"About?" I demand.

"Miller," he deadpanned.

"What about Miller?"

"For starters, what are you doing here? You don't look like a scientist," he proved.

"Neither do you" I raised my brow. "What are you doing here?"

"Talking to you. " A smirk plays on his lips. "Now what was it you were saying again about Miller?"
