Raven, thank Gods. I need help. Please, tell me you’ll help me.
“Are you okay? Are you hurt?”
I think I’m fine for now. But I won’t be much longer. Please, you have to do something. I don’t have anyone else to ask.
“We’re coming for you, Brody, but we need help. Do you know where you are?”
I’m struggling to heal. There’s something—I don’t know. I just—I’m not healing like usual. Why am I not healing?”
I shook my head. “I don’t know why you’re not healing, but we’re going to figure it out.”
“God damn it,” Hudson murmured.
Your mother’s in trouble.
A shiver rolled down my spine. “Dad was trying to get to us. That’s why he was killed. He was trying to get to me and Mom because he thought we were in danger. But she died in a car accident. How could she be in trouble? What else do you know?”
No, you don’t understand. I think the car accident was a cover-up.
“What?” Levi asked.
“Raven, what is it?” Dean asked.
My legs gave out from beneath me before Hudson caught me in his arms. “You have to talk, we can’t hear him.”
My lower lip quivered. “How—how did she die?”
“Oh, no,” Dean whispered.
I heard them talking about it a little while ago. It’s so much energy, Raven, reaching out to you. I can’t heal when I’m doing it.
Tears dripped down my cheeks. “Please, tell me how she died. It wasn’t a car accident, was it?”
“Wait, your mother isn’t alive, either?” Dean asked.
I slowly shook my head before I wiped at my cheeks. “I need more than this, Brody. Please, try to focus. How did they say she died? I saw the police reports about the car accident. I saw the signatures. How?—”
It’s just snippets, I don’t know. But I just heard someone calling you stupid for falling for the car accident.
“Oh, my God,” I choked out.
Something big is coming. Bigger than anything they’ve ever done. I need help. The pack needs help. Let me help.
MAKE HIM OPEN HIS MIND MORE.
“Wolfy, hush,” I hissed.
Dean blinked. “Wolfy?”
Hudson paused. “You still have that dumbass name for your wolf?”
Levi sighed. “You know that’s not good, naming your wolf. It keeps it separate from your?—”
HE’S NOT HERE. I CAN’T HEAR HIM. TELL HIM TO OPEN HIS MIND.
That felt off. “You can’t hear Brody either, Wolfy?”
Levi groaned. “Are you fucking kidding me right now?”
