“Hudson, stop,” Raven commanded.

I shoved Levi off to the side and towered over Dean. “You just want her all to yourself? So you figure if you torture us with all of your little visions, that we’ll leave? You think I’m that weak? That I can’t put up that good of a fight?”

Dean simply tilted his head. “Are you trying to convince me otherwise? Because right now, you’re doing exactly that.”

I lost it. I lost myself in my anger for the first time in a very long time, and as my form towered over Dean, my clothes ripped away from my body. Fur protruded from my skin as my bones morphed, cracked, and splintered as my wolf form came alive. Saliva dripped from my bared fangs as a rumbling growl shook the ground beneath us.

But when I saw Dean step in front of Raven, I saw exactly how he viewed me.

He viewed me as nothing more than a threat on her life.

What? You think I’d hurt her, Mr. I Can’t Hold My Own In A Fight?

Dean grinned. Ten bucks says I can take you to the ground in less than ten minutes.

I licked my teeth and studied his body. Deal.

“No! Stop this, right now!” Raven yelped.

“Oh, no you don’t,” Levi murmured.

Just as Dean morphed, so did Levi, and as I lunged for Dean’s jugular, something slammed into my side. I whimpered as my back fell to the ground, skidding to a halt just before I tumbled into a thick tree trunk.

And as I scrambled to get back onto my feet, Levi hopped in front of my eyes.

Take some breaths with me, he said as he put his snout in the air, just breathe, Hudson. We’ve all been through enough.

I swiped my talons in the air at him. You’re right, which is why I’m going to fight for what’s mine.

Even Dean’s wolf had a stupid fucking smile on its face. Then, go ahead. Fight for what’s yours.

I leapt over Levi’s head, feeling him snap his jaw just out of reach of my stomach. I plummeted to the ground and slid toward Dean, but the second his gaze locked with mine my body came to a grinding halt.

There we go, Levi said softly.

I shook my head. Cut the shit with your voodoo magic and let Dean fight me like the fucking man he thinks he is.

He took a step toward me as Levi came up to my side. There we go, let’s climb that heart rate out of the clouds.

I tilted my face toward the clear, blue sky and let out a bombastic howl. Fight me, you pussies!

Levi slid the side of his face against my neck. Nice and easy. There we go. We all just need to settle down and have a conversation.

Fight me! I bellowed toward Dean.

But he merely shook his head. No, I won’t fight you on this. I won’t hurt Raven anymore than she’s already been hurt.

And out of the corner of my eye, an amber-colored wolf with a stunningly green stare stepped in front of Dean.

Staring me down as her words echoed off the corners of my mind.

I almost lost you guys once, and I won’t do it again. So, control yourself and stop, or I’ll make you stop.

HUDSON

No. It was the only word that filtered through my mind, but I didn’t have the balls to say it. To project it. To show the world exactly how much I hated everything that had played out. And as I watched Raven shift back into human form, she finally mastered it.
