It felt like it, most days.

“Hudson, please!” Raven exclaimed.

I hunched my shoulders, propelling myself forward as I broke into a soft jog.

“Your Alpha commands you to stop!” Raven shrieked.

I didn’t listen, though. No Alpha had the right to control me when my heart was in crisis. I pressed on, wanting nothing more than to get away from all of them and clear my head. We were all healed. We were all fine. And outside of a little bit of exhaustion I simply couldn’t shake, we were good and ready to roll.

Until I walked in on Dean about to suck face with the woman I had fallen for.

“Hudson!” Raven shouted out.

I whipped around and spread my arms wide. “What?! What in the absolute fuck do you want from me!?”

She jogged up to me, panting for air. “Just stop. Just… just wait a second, all right?”

She bent over, resting her hands on her knees as she practically wheezed for air. And that didn’t seem right.

“Are you okay?” I asked.

She held up a finger. “I’ll be fine once I get more than two hours of sleep at a time.”

I furrowed my brow. “You haven’t been sleeping?”

Levi caught up with us. “Will you just settle down for a damn second a listen to us for once? I swear, you and Raven are both bullheaded.”

“Hey,” she said as she straightened her back, “I resent that comment.”

Dean chuckled as he walked up to us. “More like resemble it.”

I glared at him. “What the fuck do you want?”

He slid his hands into his pockets. “A conversation. Think you can handle that?”

I snapped at him. “I don’t want to talk with you right now.”

“Why? Because I was about to kiss my fated mate?”

I growled. “She’s my fated mate.”

Levi held up his hands between us. “She’s all of our fated mates.”

I snapped my jowls at him. “Stay the fuck out of this!”

He turned to face me, stepping in front of Dean in the process. “I won’t stay out of shit because it involves me, too. Raven is fated to all of us, and you think you’re the only one having to take time to process that?”

I clenched my fists at my sides. “I’m not standing here and listening to this shit.”

“Yes, you are,” Raven said curtly.

I shot her a look. “That a command from my mate, or my Alpha?”

She folded her arms over her chest. “And if it’s both?”

Dean sighed. “If you don’t want to be fated with her, you don’t have to be. You know that my visions aren’t set in stone, right?”

I snarled at him. “Just what you’d want, too. Huh? Waiting us all out until you’re the only man left standing? Is that your plan? Is that what you’re planning on doing!?”
