She furrowed her brow tightly. “Have you ever done this before?”
“No. Never. I don’t know what’s happening right now. I’ve never been able to pull someone into a vision with me before.”
Then, the darkness finally lifted. I expected to see Brody, the bear encampment, or another red wooded home. Anything to do with where in the hell we were going to find her cousin. But instead, we found ourselves in a meadow. A beautiful wildflower meadow beneath a full moon, with lightning bugs twinkling all around us.
“It’s beautiful,” Raven said breathlessly.
Then, a group of people materialized in the distance.
I pointed to focus her attention. “Over there. Let’s go see what’s happening.”
“Can you move in your visions like this?”
I nodded. “We aren’t actually moving in real life, they’re more projections than anything else. I usually keep it buried in my brain, but sometimes your father asked me to project it outward so he could see what was happening as well.”
I gazed around in awe. “Like astral projection. Or some kind of movie to watch.”
I reached my hand out for hers. “Not quite like that, but it’s the easiest explanation for now. It takes a lot of my energy, though. So, we have to be quick.”
She took my hand, and together we made our way toward the group. I still held out hope that we’d find Brody amongst the pack of people. But yet again, I was let down. Instead of Brody among some bears, I found… me. Me, Raven, Dean, and Levi.
With a master of the ceremonies standing above us.
“We have gathered here tonight to witness the mating of four fated ones before us.”
“Seriously? Your brain wants us to see this now?” Raven murmured.
“Shh,” I said curtly. “Just listen.”
“Does anyone have any objections to the union?” the master of ceremonies asked.
Everyone shook their heads, but no one spoke.
“Then, begin the bites,” the master said.
Hudson, shirtless as ever, took the first bite. He gripped Raven’s hair, tilted her head off to the side, and sank his razor sharp fangs into her neck. Raven groaned out, her body falling to the ground as it splayed out for all of us to see. Barely clothed, her curves on full display, and my hands meandering up her inner thighs.
Well, vision-me, at least.
I watched as I bit into the meat of her upper thigh, and I listened with pride as Raven’s moans filled the space around us. Levi leaned down, sinking his teeth into the meat of her breast, and I couldn’t help but smile.
“Oh, Gods. Yes,” Raven groaned.
And as her body came to climax, with her muscles pulsing and her hips bucking, that telltale undulation began again.
Before the scene faded out and the bedroom faded back in.
“You know,” Raven said as she pierced the silence, “that’s not really helpful to this whole Brody situation.”
I barked with laughter. “Well, I wish I could control them. But unfortunately, they just come on their own.”
Raven continued to stare at the spot on the ground where she had been laying in the vision, and I held her as close to me as I could. I buried my face into the crook of her neck, drawing in her scent for as long as she’d let me. As the silent minutes ticked by, though, I grew wary of Raven’s silence.
So, I broke it that time.
“If you’ll have me,” I said as I turned her to face me, “then I accept our mating bond.”
She blinked. “What?”
