He smiled and rotated his hips, making me moan. “I’m fucking sure. Are you?”
Shaking my head, I laughed lightly. “I’m not sure of anything. I wanted this tonight, though. I knew you didn’t have a condom on and I was excited about it.”
“We’ll take care of you. We’ll take care of Forrest, you, and whoever else we create.” He kissed me and then pressed his forehead into mine. “If we hadn’t lost you before, we would’ve had a huge family by now. You would’ve spent the last six years knocked-up, being spoiled.”
I wrapped my arms around his shoulders. “No matter how crazy you sound, I still want you right here. If we set an alarm and you leave before Forrest wakes up, it’ll be like you never spent the night…”
He stroked my cheek and smiled. “If I stay, I’m going to take you again, Vi. Are you sure you can handle that?”
I pushed his hair out of his face. “I’ve waited six years to feel this good again. I can handle it.”
He rolled us over so I was on top. Looking up at me, his eyes widened and he bit his lip. “Fuck. You look good on top of me.”
I sat upright, partly shy and partly drunk on promises and pleasure. Cupping my breasts, I rolled my hips and grinned when he swore. “I’ve only ever been like this with another one of you behind me, pinning me down.”
He grunted. “Give it time. Mason and Ben are both dying to touch you again. They’re just as crazy about you as I am, Vi. I’m sure they’re both pissed at me right now. I had to fight to get the walkie talkie tonight and it was worth it.”
“Yeah, you really had fun with that walkie talkie, huh?” Smiling down at him, I rolled my hips again. “I’d hate to send you back to the main house without a good reason for the guys to be pissed at you. I’ll have to figure out a way to outshine that walkie talkie.”
“What walkie talkie?”
CHAPTER 18
Violet
Jenny called me bright and early the next morning. “I’m sorry to bother you so early, Violet. I was wondering if you’d mind me picking up Forrest for school today. I thought it would give him and my son, Tommy, time to bond.”
I’d just gotten out of the shower and had my towel clutched around me while rushing to throw a breakfast together Forrest wouldn’t hate. “Oh. Um, sure. I guess that would be fine.”
“My Tommy is a little shy. Well. A lot shy. Even though he’s been at Lily Elementary since pre-school, Forrest has already made more friends than Tommy has ever been able to. I was hoping Tommy would come out of his shell a bit around Forrest.”
I paused with an egg halfway to the skillet. “Wow. Yeah, of course, Jenny. Forrest is such a people person. I’m honestly not sure where he gets it. Lord knows I’m much more of a Tommy.”
She laughed. “I’d be lying if I said I was an extravert. Maybe Forrest will rub off a bit on all of us.”
I looked over at where he was stumbling around just outside of his bedroom, trying to pull his shoes on. “Thank you, Jenny. I’m sure he’ll be excited. You know where I’m staying?”
She laughed. “You’re hilarious. This is Lilyfield, Violet. Everyone knows everything about everyone. I was thinking I’d pick him up early and stop by the diner with them. That Chase is a tall drink of water, isn’t he?”
“Sure.” I wagged my finger at Forrest. “Stay out of the fridge. Ms. Jenny is going to stop by with her son, Tommy. She’s going to take you two to the diner.”
Jenny heard him cheer and sounded relieved. “I’ll be there in ten. Thank you for this.”
“Thank you. I can go back to sleep for a little while now.”
“Jealous.” She said something to someone in the background and sighed. “Can I come a little faster? Is Forrest a black hole like my Tommy? I swear I can feed him ten times a day and he’ll still get hangry.”
“You’ve seen Forrest. He’s a healthy boy. When he gets a little older, I’ll need to get a second job to pay for snacks.” I checked Forrest out and saw he was fully ready. “You can come whenever. He’s dressed and ready to go.”
“Thank god. If I have to hear this kid is starving to death one more time, I’m going to scream. I’ll be there in a few minutes.”
I said goodbye and helped Forrest into his backpack before grabbing a robe. I wrapped it around myself and slipped my feet into my boots to walk downstairs with him.
“Will you pick me up, Mommy?” Forrest looked up at me and yawned. “I want to come home and play with General and Captain. Justin said I could help walk them today.”
I brushed his hair out of his eyes and kissed the top of his head. “Of course, baby. I’ll be there.”
“I love you. Will you read to me tonight?”
