“Oh god,” I gasp, carefully detangling myself from my men. “Ohmygod.”

“Coming already?” Ezra tsks. “We are only getting started, lisichka. Come back.”

“No, not that!” I smack his chest as he tries to pull me back in. “Liam! He’s here!”

Ezra’s entire demeanor changes. “Are you sure?”

I’m struck by the thought that none of my men have ever seen Liam before. Slowly, I nod. “Yeah, he’s right over there.”

Well, he was. Now, he’s moved. “Nevermind, he’s gone.”

“Are you sure you saw him?” Andrei slides up behind me and wraps his arms around my waist.

“You need to let her go, or he will not approach.”

Andrei growls, then leans down to whisper in my ear. “Go find him, zhena, before I change my mind and kill him for so much as looking at what’s mine.”

“We will be right behind you,” Ezra rumbles, squeezing my hip and kissing my hair.

Mikhail wedges himself between Ezra and meand stares into my eyes. “Don’t forget who you belong to, malyshka, or I will happily remind you—” He slides his tongue across his teeth before leaning in and claiming my mouth, sucking my bottom lip between his. “—and force him to watch.”

Andrei finally releases me from his arms, and I stumble as I walk off the dance floor. By the time I regain my focus and remember the whole reason we’re here in the first place, Liam is nowhere to be found.

Where did he go?

I pick the closest option, spilling into a dark hallway with only the glowing red exit sign as my guiding light. The door at the end of the hallway opens, and through the orange glow of streetlights, I spot him slipping outside.

My heels click across the floor, louder with each step I take away from the dance floor. As I approach the exit, my heartbeat fills my ears as adrenaline rushes through my veins.

Here we go. Confronting my stalker psycho ex.

What could go wrong?

Chapter 28

Valentina

I bite my lip as my hands hover over the door lock. I’ve been thinking of Liam less and less with each day that passes, but every time I catch a flicker of jealousy in Andrei’s eyes, I remember.

Liam’s in danger too.

He might be a creep, but he doesn’t deserve to die by dismemberment. I might be the only one who can save him.I need to convince him to leave town and never come back.

I push open the heavy metal door and stumble into the night. The alleyway is small, ending in a brick wall to my left and the busy street on my right.

Movement out of the corner of my eye nearly makes me scream.

“Liam!”

He steps out of the shadows, the flickering streetlight overhead casting him in an eerie glow. The hairs on the back of my neck rise as he slides his gaze up and down my body.

“What are you doing here?” I ask, taking a step closer. “How did you find me?”

He doesn’t answer my questions. “I’ve been looking all over for you, Valentina.”

A chill runs down my spine. If he really took all of those photographs, he isn’t lying. If it weren’t so fucking creepy, it might be kind of endearing that he cares so much.

“Well, you found me.” I laugh awkwardly, trying to wrap my hair in a knot at the base of my neck. “I’m sorry I didn’t call. Grandma said you were worried.”
