Page 149 of Unwilling Wolf

“Name them,” Garret said through a smile.

“One, Buck needs to be present.”

“I’ll get him,” Wells said, and bolted for the barn.

Oh, the tears were falling now. “Two, I do want to be a part of this Pack.” This request was for Garret, so she turned to him.

His smile softened. “Well, ask what you want.”

“I’m already your wife. You said claiming me is bigger, and I want all of you, Garret Shaw. Turning me would be claiming me.” She looked around, afraid of rejection, but wanting what she’d dreamed of bad enough to ask. “I want to be like you.”

His smile stayed, and he didn’t look surprised. “You really want me to Turn you?”

She sniffled as the tears streamed down her jawline, and nodded.

“You’re sure you can handle it?” he asked.

“I’m very tough.”

He stalled on an answer, but his eyes were dancing. “You are the toughest woman I’ve ever met. We already planned it, Eliza. The cage is ready. I have your journal, so you can read all your stories about me and jog your memory. I have a stack of letters I wrote when you were gone, so you can come back to me faster. Me and Roy and Lenny plan on staying with you until you gain control. If you want the wolf, she’s yours. You’re strong enough, Eliza. You’re more than strong enough.”

She wiped her tears and nodded. “Okay.” She nodded again. “Okay, Garret Shaw. I’ll marry you. Again.”

And she did marry him.

She stood in front of their home, in their territory, in the colors of the sunset, holding the strong and capable hands of the man she loved with all of her heart, in front of the people who had become her chosen family.

Her Pack.

With Roy standing next to Garret looking proudly on.

With Lenny standing right beside her, holding a bouquet of wildflowers.

With dinner warming on the stove, and moonshine waiting, and a once-unwilling husband who she could tell…she could tell…had never been more willing to do anything.
