“Are you feeling all right?” he asked her.
“I’m not sore, but it’s early.”
He grinned. “Your muscles will feel it later. I’ll get the salve. Have a seat.”
She smiled, walked to the living room, and sat on the sofa. She glanced around the room. The house was just beautiful. She loved the two-sided fireplace.
Cody returned to the room, handed her a jar, and then sat beside her.
“Use it after a bath or shower. It will help.”
“Okay.” She took the jar from him and read the label. “I’ll use it tonight. I appreciate it.”
“So, what do you want to do for the rest of the day?” He ran his hand over her ponytail. “So soft,” he murmured.
“We could watch a movie if you’d like.”
“Okay. Are you hungry?”
“Not yet. Are you?”
“Not really. Let’s find something to watch and once it’s over, we can get something to eat. We could go into the diner.”
“You really like those burgers, don’t you?”
“Can’t get enough of them. You got me hooked.”
Addison grinned. “One bite is all it takes.”
After arguing over what movie to watch, they finally settled on Tombstone.
“I love this movie,” she said. “All the gorgeous men in it.”
“You watch it for the men?”
“Come on. Kurt Russell, Sam Elliott, Val Kilmer, Powers Boothe, and Michael Biehn. What’s not to like?”
Cody shook his head and laughed.
“Okay, then I’ll watch it for Dana Delaney.”
“Fair enough.”
They settled in on the sofa and watched the movie. Addison laughed when Cody would say the lines with the actors.
“I believe you’ve seen this movie before,” she teased.
“Maybe once or twice.”
He put his arm around her, pulled her close, and placed his chin on her head. She placed her arm across his stomach and watched the movie. When he kissed her head, she smiled. He seemed like such a romantic man, and she needed that. Hell, what woman didn’t?
Stuart had been a good man and husband, but he was as romantic as a fence post. He had rarely kissed her. She had loved him, but something was missing between them and that something was passion.
Mentally shaking her head, she hated thinking about him in that manner. He loved her and she never doubted it, but he rarely showed emotion in anything he did, other than serve his country. That was all he wanted, and he got his wish. He made the ultimate sacrifice but left her alone. It had been so hard on her at first, but she was strong, and stood on her own two feet.
“What are you thinking?” Cody whispered.
“Nothing really.”
