All the while over her shoulder she called out, “Hi, Caelan. Congrats on your win. Bye Caelan. See you kids.” And then she was hauling me straight to the bedroom.
Caelan’s laughter boomed through the house.
She spun in front of me and said, “If you meant this, you better get naked.”
Like lightning our clothes flew off our bodies, I grabbed her by the waist, threw her on the bed, and then I jumped on her.
Neither one of us paying attention to the sounds that the bed had made.
Her hands cupped my face, brought my lips to hers and then both of us lost ourselves in our passion.
Kisses.
Touches.
Lips skimming along necks.
Teeth nibbling.
Licks upon licks.
Sliding into my home.
Lids half-mast.
Moans filling the room.
The scent of our lovemaking further fueled our frenzy.
Me on top.
Her on top.
Me behind her.
We were both laying there in my bed, panting, a sweaty mess, as I said, “So, is that yes?”
She laughed, slapped my gut, and nodded, “Hell yes.”
“Good. As if I would ever accept anything else. Now, when do you want to get married? And which house do you want to live in?”
She didn’t hesitate in answering me, “In three months, and I want to live here. I’m going to offer my place to Isla. She has some weird neighbors living on either side of her. It freaks her out.”
See, that was why I did what I did with the ring.
Simple.
And all mine.
Needless to say, within a week she was all moved in, and Isla was in her house.
And in that week, we had a massive party in our backyard, as well as one at the bar.
Also… if I had a camera at the ready, I would have snapped the moment when Birdie asked Rich if he would walk her down the aisle.
With the tears streaming down his face, I knew he was honored.
And I also found out that she inherited money from her Miss Maggie.
