“Yeah. While I’d send in Ravage, I didn’t want our faces shown too much around the crime scene which is why you’ll wear the hats and blacked out glasses. So I have some help that’ll go in before you. They’ll sweep. I’ve given them exactly ten minutes or the place goes up in flames. They know the score,” Cooper repeated the words of his father.

“And these people will just do it with their life on the line?” I asked because not many people would put themselves in the line of fire.

“Pretty boy.” Cooper shook his head. “You’ve got a lot to learn. But yeah. We’ve done a lot of favors for people over the years, and when it’s time to cash in on it, we do. It’s not just the Banes. We’ll have others. You just go in and do your job and get the fuck out.”

“You’re good?” Raid asked, sitting next to me.

“Yes,” I said confidently. “I know the mission. Kill the three and their guards. Get out. Boom. I just don’t want any innocents caught in the fire.” That shit bothered me. Those three, though, would be the first.

“It’s them or Nyx. Who do you choose?” Raid asked me.

“Nyx. I’ll always choose Nyx.” He had to know that.

“That’s why we’re doin’ this shit. It’s why we’re here. The further they are from Nyx, the better I feel. You?”

“Yeah. It was smart to force them to stay to find their money. That’s all these fuckers care about. Money. Violence and Nyx.”

Cooper spoke, “We’re five out. Listen.” We all did. “Micha, Deke, and Buzz are staying in the SUV. Me, Raid, Ax, Nox, Green, Jacks and Liam are goin’ in. We go straight in and up to the fourth floor.”

Micah clicked on the computer, and the floorplan came up on the screen. “Silencers. You take any of their people out. Anyone with guns and you get to their offices. We have confirmation they are there. You get the secretary out, and she should be the only innocent. We go in bullets to the head for each of them and out. We have fifteen minutes to get in, get the job done, and get out. Once we’re clear and gettin’ the hell out of dodge, the guys in the other SUV will ignite the gas and boom. Got it?”

“They really gonna let us in with FBI jackets on?” I asked. The idea was good. Tricky if anyone saw us, but it should give us clearance.

“Fuck. Most people will probably be gone and won’t say anything. Someone gives you shit, you take them out in the most discreet way possible, just not on the streets. On your way out, you turn the jackets inside out, but keep the glasses on so you’re totally different people comin’ out,” Nox filled us in. He wasn’t as in your face as some of the other guys.

“Everyone ready for this? Speak now or forever hold your peace,” Cooper told us. He was running point on the job. I’d thought it’d be Raid considering it had to do with Nyx, but nope, he fell in line behind Cooper, no questions asked. His loyalty was admirable.

They were all a very well-oiled machine.

I pulled out my gun, made sure the silencer was attached well, and checked the clip. Then I checked to my pockets to make sure the extra clips were in there and ready to go. After checking those, I went to the other two I carried and made sure they were ready to go.

We were all coming out of this, and those fuckers were done.

“Remember, you’re all agents goin’ into this place,” Cooper said as we turned a corner, the building coming into view. “Head up and most people should be cleared. In and out. Ready?”

“Ready,” we said in unison as we stopped on the side of the road.

“Let’s go.”

Buzz was driving and barely stopped long enough for us to get out. “Be safe,” he told everyone as the door shut, and he took off.

As we moved as one into the building, Raid bumped my arm, letting me know he was by my side. This might be my first job with the Ravage MC, but it wasn’t my first operation. It was still nice to have him with me.

It was officially go time, and my adrenaline was pumping so hard that it made me even more alert and knowledgeable of my surroundings. Those high-octane times always had me hyper-focused and ready to roll.

This was no exception. Knowing that Raid had my back, helped a fuck of a lot too. It was always best to go into battle with those you trusted and knew had your back.

While it was my first mission with the Ravage MC, Raid trusted them, and I trusted him. Therefore, I had to put my faith in this band of brothers.

The people coming out of the building were scarce, and surprisingly no one paid attention as we entered the building.

Our first obstacle came with the reception area where a large man with dark hair stood on the phone.

Jacks marched right up to him and pulled out what appeared to be a badge and told him, “Leave now or we’re cuffin’ ya.”

The man’s eyes widened and, not grabbing a single thing, he took off out of the building. Obviously, Miles didn’t keep his own security down here. This guy ran like a scared little chicken.

Cooper nodded to two men off to the left who nodded back. Giving the all clear I hoped. Considering I had no clue who all their people were, I was going in blind.
