“Can we get down to business? We’ve got shit to do,” Cruz told them, clearly done with all the back and forth, quieting them.
But I didn’t know how to feel about Screech being at the clubhouse. He wouldn’t do something stupid and break into Ravage’s system unless he felt he was in danger. I knew that. But hell, one step out of place, they could crush him, and I was here and not there. I had to trust in so many people now. It was not something I was accustomed to by any means.
Even when my mom was alive, she was all I had. Nothing like all these men around me. Trust was definitely something I needed to work on and fast.
“Sorry man. Yeah,” Raid said as he reached down and grabbed my hand, giving it a squeeze. I reciprocated it, loving he was so in tune with me.
The brothers moved into the space. Deke pulled out a laptop, opened it, and set it up. Micah did the same thing, while Jacks rolled out a large piece of paper that appeared to be a map.
They were not messing around. They were in full briefing mode.
“Raid, grab the connection to the screen,” Micah said, and Raid released me, but not before lifting his chin to Liam who took my hand then went to the far wall and hit a hidden button.
A large screen came down from the ceiling. Raid went to a drawer and pulled a small fob and handed it to Micah as the screen came to life.
“Thanks, man.”
I leaned into Liam. “This place is like the Pentagon.”
Liam chuckled and released my hand, putting his arm around me and pulling me close. “It doesn’t surprise me one bit. One thing I’ve gotta give these guys is they’re smart and appear to have some high-tech equipment to handle this.”
“Awe. Thanks, Liam.” Ax came up and slapped him on the shoulder. “One night and y’all figured shit out? My brother’s fuckin’ good.”
I didn’t know if I was shocked, or if I wanted to laugh. Ax was so open about Liam, and it warmed me. I loved it, and it gave me hope.
“Brother,” Raid growled low in warning.
Ax put his arms out to his side. “What? I can feel the damn change.”
“Good. Now stop the gossip shit, and let’s get to work,” Cruz barked. Yeah, he was done with all the bullshit. Note to self, Cruz wasn’t into banter when serious shit was happening. Got it. I liked him more and more each time we met.
Images came up on the screen, and I gasped as Miles stared back at me smiling. Fuck, I hated him. Hated him. Those eyes were harsh, and the devil himself shined behind them.
Evil wasn’t a strong enough word for him. Demented. Demon. Devil.
“Miles Hamilton. He’s the main target.” A click went through the space, and Kylo and Flynn’s photos came up. “These are the secondary targets. Kylo and Flynn Hamilton.” Another click and four photos came up, none I recognized. “These four are now their main bodyguards. They were in the organization, lower on the totem pole and were moved up after the deaths of the old guards.” Another click and three more pictures. “These three are trackers. Highly skilled ones.”
My breath caught. Trackers. Holy shit. They were the dogs who were hunting me.
Liam tugged me closer and kissed the side of my head. He moved me to the couch and sat next to me. Not that it helped ease the fear one bit. Not only did I have to deal with the thought of Miles getting me, but I also had to worry about people whose main mission was to hunt me. It made me feel less of a human and more of a prey and not in a good way like my guys made me feel.
“How skilled?” Raid asked the question I wanted to.
“Two are ex-military.” He highlighted two pictures. “This one was self-taught and has an underground reputation as unstoppable.”
“Unstoppable?” I gasped.
Raid shrugged, all the confidence in the world. “Until us.”
My heart pulled and twisted. Why couldn’t they have stupid trackers? Ones who couldn’t see their hand in front of their face. That would be ideal for me.
“Needless to say, I put together info on all three of them,” Micah told us and began going through it with each fact, making my stomach want to puke.
“Nox and Green are in Tifton. They’ve connected with the Bane brothers and are canvasing the area.” It was apparently Deke’s turn to speak. “They have three possible locations. We’re lucky that the town isn’t that big. Nox and Green are currently wiring up surveillance at those three locations. We already have eyes on the town through the street cameras but wanted more on those spots. With them, we don’t know what they’ll think they control, and we want that control.”
“Any luck on the transportation?” Cruz asked, and Raid responded.
“They have two private planes that are currently in a hanger in Atlanta. They haven’t been prepped and show no signs of getting prepped. If they’re coming soon, they’d need prep. Checked all the commercial flights, and no one with the names Hamilton. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t using an alias. It’s gotten harder with TSA, but nothing’s impossible.”
