I rushed behind Raid and Liam. Something between them changed while I was in the shower. They appeared to be more comfortable with each other.

While true, I still didn’t want any of them to be in the line of danger, but I knew now they wouldn’t want it any other way. Protecting me gave them purpose. Not to sound conceded or anything like that because Raid felt the same about his club. And Liam felt that way about his community. They were protectors to their core.

After our night together, I’d woken up with a small smile on my face. It was then I knew I couldn’t take myself from them. That it wouldn’t solve anything. It would make everything worse. They loved me, and I loved them. It took me realizing all of this to get my fighter hat back on. Like Raid said, even strong women have weak spots. It didn’t make me any less. It made me human.

Wait. Ax was here. “Ax, where’s Screech? Is he not with you?” Where in the world was he?

“He’s safe. Trust me. We have news and need to get things together.”

“Where is he?” I asked again, ignoring the “news” and wanting to know where my bestie was.

“The clubhouse,” Ax responded.

“Have you lost your fuckin’ mind?” Raid bellowed at his brother.

Ax smirked. “Settle. He’s in the private room with no electronics except a television. Swiped it. It’s all good, brother.” This didn’t seem to settle Raid one bit.
