“You have no idea. Don’t be surprised if she calls the cops.”
My brow tipped considering who I’d just seen him talking to outside the building. Liam smirked, but went to the envelope, opened it up, and began reading.
“Is she gonna stay there the whole time?” David asked as Clara didn’t back down and banged louder.
“Probably. That’s why I need to read these, and you need to file them before we leave,” Liam said, not stopping a second from reading.
“I need to get home to my wife,” David stated.
“You do, but first this. Then you go. She’s right outside the damn door. She’s not rushin’ to your wife to spill her guts now, is she?” I answered while Liam read.
“This has been a mess since James died. That woman out there is a pitbull,” David responded. “Threatening me with anything and everything she could find. This last one, though, that was the one that got me.”
“She’s somethin’ alright. She doesn’t stop this shit, though, I’ll deal with her. You deal with your own shit, and don’t drag Liam or any affiliated with the Ravage MC, and we’ll be good.” It was my turn to threaten, and I meant every damn word.
The banging on the door continued. What did this woman plan on accomplishing? I had no fucking clue. Just to be a pain in the ass I guessed because no way in fuck Liam was not signing whatever these papers said.
“Ma’am, I’m sorry but you need to stop this ruckus,” the secretary said from the other side of the door. Sara? Sandy? Fuck if I could remember. One in a long list of nameless and faceless. They say men enjoy that shit, but after a while it loses its luster. Since meeting Nyx, no other woman had even popped in my head. It’s always her. Would always be her.
“Shut the fuck up, bitch!” Clara yelled then started at the door again.
Liam looked up and said, “This is correct.”
Davy nodded. “Can you tell Ms. Deeps to come in here as a witness?” he asked me.
I assumed that Ms. Deeps was the secretary because hell if I knew her last name, especially when I couldn’t remember the first. Opening the door, evil eyes glared at me as she started yelling at me. I ignored her. “Ms. Deeps, David needs you.”
Clara tried to push her way through, but there was no getting past me. I was able to move and allow the secretary to enter. Then I shut the door back in Clara’s face. All the while she continued her two-year-old tantrum.
“Yes. How can I help?” Ms. Deeps asked, going straight to David.
“He’s going to sign. Need you to witness and sign off.” He looked at Liam. “She’s also a notary.”
“Good,” Liam said, leaning down and signing the paperwork. David signed, and then Ms. Deeps pulled a stamp out of the desk and stamped it. “Can you scan it in here and get it registered?”
Ms. Deeps looked to the door, hearing the woman outside of it. “Of course. Can I use your computer, David?”
He moved immediately as she got to work. Within a few moments and scans later, Ms. Deeps stood from her seat. “It’s all been filed with the county and state. You’re good to go.”
“Nothing else needs to be done?” Liam asked.
“Nope. The documents you signed are fully legal and executed. If you’d like us to file the paperwork for eviction to the two properties, we can do that as well,” David said.
“Yes to Clara’s house. I want her out as soon as possible. The other, no,” Liam told him, and a smirk came to my lips.
“We’ll do all the paperwork and contact the courts. We’ll let you know once it’s done. It’ll take about a month,” David responded. “You’ll have access to all of your father’s accounts within a day.”
“Fine by me,” Liam said, then turned to me. “Ready?”
Fuck yeah, I was. We had a lot to talk about and figure out. Plus, I needed to get a pulse on where he was with this whole thing. If he worked even for a second with Thompson, Nyx would have to understand what I’d do.
The thought of pulling that trigger on him wasn’t good. Even though I’d said many times I wanted to shoot him. But hell.
Time for him to come clean and face the consequences.
