Passing a set of trees on the right, a huge wall that went up about ten feet of bricks came into view. Raid slowed down just a bit, and I’d thought maybe this was the place, but when he passed what looked like the sliding concrete doors to the home, I’d guessed wrong.

About two miles down the road, Raid held out his right hand and slowed his bike. I followed suit with the truck as he turned down a white rocked lane, and I trailed behind.

As we left the main road, more and more trees were on either side of the road, putting us in a forest-like setting. It felt like forever but only maybe a quarter mile where Raid slowed and turned a slight right.

Once we turned, the rock disappeared, changing into a concrete paved road.

Some serious money had been put into this place.

Raid slowed to a stop and put his feet down, balancing the bike.

Nyx turned to the truck and lifted her chin. Screech chuckled. “She’s already adopting Grouchy’s mannerisms.”

“Fuck, I hope not. She’s always beenher, and she needs to stay that way.” It came out as a growl. I loved the Nyx I’d come to know. A clone of Raid … no one needed that.

“Damn, sparks are gonna fly around here,” Screech said, and I ignored him.

Nyx turned back around, and Raid reached out and swiped his hand straight up, revealing a keypad in what looked like a bush. He plugged in some kind of code, and then strangest thing happened.

It was something out of a movie.

Trees in front of us started to move on what apparently was some type of wall, and maybe not real trees even though they looked very real. What the fuck was going on here?

Raid went through the door, and I followed.

“This is some crazy shit,” Screech said, looking around as we entered in a tunnel. As soon as we went over the threshold, the door behind us closed, and a red light glowed in the space.

“You saw that, right?” I asked him, needing to know my brain didn’t decide to take a vacation.

“Yeah... Lived here my whole life and never saw this,” he said, eyes roaming everywhere.

Same here; well, most of my life. This shit was seriously sophisticated. Ravage put a hell of a lot of money here to create this. The question was why?

Lights turned on in the tunnel as we entered, illuminating the space.

Sunlight came up at the end, and Raid moved through it, and we continued to follow.

I blinked rapidly, getting my eyes to adjust.

“Whoa… This is a safe house?” Screech asked as we pulled up next to Raid, who parked and appeared to be waiting for us.

"Fuck if I know. Seems a bit ostentatious to be a hidden safe house for Nyx,” I growled low.

The house was way too fucking big to be a place where I could keep her safe. Two stories, possible basement, large, bright windows and great landscaping. Who in the hell came to do the gardening? Who had access to this house?

Screech rolled down his window, and Raid said, “Park in the garage.”

“Are you fuckin’ kiddin’ me, Raid? This is where you want to house Nyx?” I asked him, staring at the intricacies of the space. Beautiful rocks were placed with precision along the foundation. This place was made with serious thought and consideration. It was an in-your-face kind of place. Not a hide out and stay safe place.

“Shut the fuck up and park,” he barked.

“I’m gettin’ tired of you barking orders at me, Raiden. Get the cob out of your fucking ass and knock it off,” I growled low. He was seriously pissing me the fuck off.

Nyx swung her leg off of Raid’s bike, pulled off her helmet, and shook out her hair. I instantly forgot Raid and soaked in the woman who’d held my heart for years. Beautiful. My cock twitched in my jeans. She didn’t know the affect she still had on me.

Nyx came to the side of the truck and gave a small smile. The one she gave when she was trying to appease me. And I damn well knew it. It also worked like a damn charm every single time.

“Please, Liam. He wouldn’t bring us here if we weren’t safe. You know this. Please park so we can get inside and see what’s in this monstrosity.”
