I chuckled.

We finished clearing the vehicle. “That’s it. If the asshole wants it now, he can have it,” Micah said, slamming two of the doors shut.

“I’m gonna go burn this,” Deke said, holding up the laptop. “Be back.”

“Thanks,” Micah called out as Deke walked through the door. "Come on. Let me show ya what I’ve got.”

“What exactly is Deke burning?” I asked.

“Chief dickheads computer. He took the motherboard out and is burnin’ the rest. Considering he knew about my SUV, he probably knows we have the computer. Need to make it disappear.”

“Right.”

“Cruz is callin’ church at six. So we need to encode as many layers of protection we can before then. Once that’s done, I can run the flash once again.”

For two hours, Micah, Deke, who came back from the burning fest, and I encoded, creating several walls that would need to be broken through along with so many twists and blocks one would have to get through before anything could touch Ravage information.

Fuck him.

Chief was goin’ down.

“He’s not lurkingin the shadows, is he?” Screech asked as I shut the door to his place. After getting that wonderful message, I came here instantly.

“No. He has things to do.” I moved directly into the computer room, not in the mood for small talk. He felt it too.

“What’s wrong?” he asked, coming in behind me as I sat down at my end of the computer table, and he followed, sitting in his.

“First, thank you for doing whatever you did to filter the bad stuff out. Can’t tell you how much that meant to me.”

“You couldn’t watch it; I handled it. No big deal.”

“It is a big deal, but moving on. Got a message from the feed.” I pulled it out and played it for Screech.

“Fuck.” Screech went to his computers and pulled up a bunch of blank screens. “They found them. They’re wiped.”

“I guessed that. Are we still nowhere?” I asked.

Screech smiled. “After leaving your place last night, I had a contact get in touch with me. First, I need to know—do you really want to do this shit? We go this route, we’re getting into bed with some serious people.”

“Are they worse than Miles, Flynn, and Kylo?” I asked curious.

“They are on a similar playing field.”

Not thinking about it I stated, “What do you have?”

“Money,” he said vaguely.

“Keep going.”

“We can’t get in the way we’ve been trying. We can, however, get in through the banks. It’ll be something I’ve never undertaken because if we do this, it has to be done all at the same time. Meaning they have six banks that come up. Could have more. But when we do the banks here, we need to do all the offshore accounts. All in one big boom. It’s gonna take some serious planning and assistance. That transfer button needs to be pushed at the same time. If one doesn’t go through, Miles will be alerted, and it could blow up in our faces.”

“It would wipe them out completely?”

“Yes. Business and personal.”
