I’d spend my life trying to make up for what I'd cost them. She’d given up everything in high school all because of me and my fucked up choices. Fucked her and my brother with my shit, and the guilt of it, I’d carry forever with me.
“How do you think those bikers would react to you fucking a man?” Mr. Baker held up his phone, showing me a video he'd taken without my knowledge. It showed me fucking him, along with another chick here in this classroom after hours.
Fucker recorded me.
My stomach twisted. Ax and I had been prospecting for the Ravage MC for almost a year, and we were so damn close to getting our cuts.
This could fuck it up.
“You wouldn’t be stupid enough to put that out into the world,” I fired back with the bluster of a full-blown member of the Ravage MC, but without having any power whatsoever.
“Wanna bet? Not only are you fucking a man, but I know your father.”
“Of course, you know my father. That means shit.”
“Oh. You should check me out before you think of threatening me about this, Raid.”
“Fuck off. I ain’t doin’ shit,” I fired back.
“How about this. I throw it out there that the blonde is Indie and your brother Ax. If I go down, then I take your brother and his girl down with me.”
“All this just to keep fuckin’ me. You can’t be serious.”
“Yeah. I fuckin’ am.”
“No one is gonna believe that.”
No way in fuck I wanted my brother brought into this situation. Let alone his little innocent woman. He fucking loved her, and I had no doubt they’d be together until the end.
But fuck. To fuck this up.
“Fine,” I said, moving out of the door and slamming it shut. I needed to talk to Ax.
That ruined Indie and Ax. I ruined them. It was all my fault. And fuck, it hurt. Never wanted my brother to be destroyed, and being the reason for it felt like shit. No matter the words he and Indie gave me in forgiveness, I’d never forgive myself.
Now, though, not only did Ax have Indie, but a damn dog.
I couldn’t believe my brother had settled down. Fuck, more than settled down. He’d gone from fucking everything that walked and living his life wild, to switching to a family man in the course of a few days. At least that was what it felt like.
I was damn happy for him. Only wanted the best for my brother and having Indie back in his life, at his side, was the best thing that had ever happened to him.
He told me he knew she was his a long time ago, and when she opened the door, he stuck his boot in it and knocked down the walls.
The thought of me being the reason he hadn’t had it for all those years fucking rode me hard. They both gave me a pass, but that didn’t mean my actions didn’t leave a scar on my blackened soul.
Just never thought I’d see the day when he moved into a house with a woman, her dog, and no doubt at some point kids along the way, considering they fucked like rabbits.
One thing about giving your house key to your brother, don’t do it if you’re going to be fucking your woman in the living room. Because ‘said’ brother gets an eyeful of your woman taking your cock. But giving them shit about it at every turn was the bonus for my scarred eyes.
Hearing voices, I crept to the edge of the building and listened closely, the night breeze carrying the sound. Maxium’s distinct words permeated the night sky, and a grin came to my lips. Fuck yeah. Let’s do this shit.
When he came into view, he had two men with him. This wasn’t even a challenge. And here I thought he’d at least test me tonight.
Maxium laughed at something one of the men said as he passed, not even seeing me in the shadows. Glad he was having a great night. Too bad it was going to turn to shit.
I let out a low whistle, and Maxium turned abruptly, his eyes connecting with mine as I pushed off the building.
He reached into his jacket, but before he could even blink, my gun was out and pointing directly at his head. “Wouldn’t do that if I were you.” The man seriously had screws loose. Trying to pull a gun on me? Dumber than I thought. And my expectations for him weren’t high to begin with.
