He kisses me and steps back.
“I’ll pick up Toshi. Can you deal with the doors?”
I nod, and he passes me his keys.
He goes into Spencer’s office and comes out with a groaning Toshi slung over his shoulder.
I go to the door and unlock it.
“Can you switch off the lights, too?” he asks.
“Done,” I tell him, holding the door open and hitting the switches.
The office gets dark enough to feel creepy. I shiver a little as I step outside and lock the door.
E.A. waits for me and lets me go up the spiral staircase first.
I head up and unlock the apartment door, holding it open for him again.
He ducks to make sure he gets inside without bumping Toshi.
I close and lock the door behind us, leaving the key in the lock because that’s what he does.
I step out of my shoes and leave them in the hallway.
E.A. moves into the main room.
“He’ll like it if he wakes up in your bed,” I tell him.
E.A. blinks at me as I close the hallway door.
“He likes your bed. We all kind of do, actually.”
“Oh,” he murmurs.
“What’s wrong?” I ask.
“Nothing. I was just going to put us all in Spencer and Echo’s room. It’s been a hard day. I thought it would be nice to all wake up together.”
I smile at him. “That actually sounds perfect.”
He smiles back. “It does, doesn’t it?”
“Just as well Spencer’s ordered a new bed. It’s a slightly bigger version of yours.”
“That sounds even more perfect.”
“It does, doesn’t it?”
Chapter One Hundred Sixteen
Spencer
Something’s wrong. That Alpha instinct of mine wakes me up for the second time in a row, and I have a horrible feeling that yesterday is about to start over again as if I’m stuck in a time loop. I sit up quickly, and I realize that nothing’s wrong. Everything’s right.
All my mates are in bed with me.
Even the ones I haven’t claimed.
