“I figured Ishould in case you shoot off your mouth to the press.”

“I was planningon taking out a full-page ad.”

She rolled her eyesat him, and he had to stop himself from stealing a kiss again.

“We couldarrange dinner or something.”

“Mother wantsus all to come over on Sunday.”

Her tapered browslifted. “When were you going to tell me?”

“Later, in bed. When you are weak and sated from my excellent lovemaking.” Hegrinned at her.

“You figuredyou could get me to agree to anything when I am in that state?”

“If you want, Ican prove it to you.”

She was about toretort when their meal was wheeled over.

“We will pour.Thanks. Cooper told the waitstaff.

“My husbandtold me we have a couple of friends in the house.” The womanwearing the stunning ruby red dress, with her natural, signatureblonde curls, glided over, a smile on her exquisite face. Cooper roseimmediately to wrap his arms around her.

The sharp jolt ofjealousy she felt shocked her so much that it took a little while torealize that Kelly Takahashi was looking at her. “It’s apleasure to meet you, Dr. Brooke Campbell.”

“Just Brooke.”She returned the woman’s smile and had the awful feeling thatKelly had seen the look of jealousy on her face. “Very nice tomeet you.”

“I amcompletely in love with my husband.” She added with a wickedsmile.

“I am sure youare.” Brooke returned, her smile widening. “I have heardgreat things about you and the others.”

“And I havebeen told you run a free clinic downtown. Very commendable.”

“She givesherself to the place.” The pride in Cooper’s voice wasunmistakable.

“I am sure shedoes. Well, I will leave you to your meal. I will be here for theremainder of the evening and hope to see you before you leave.”Turning, she took Brooke’s hand in hers.

“Welcome to thegroup, darling.”

“She isstunning,” Brooke remarked casually as she toyed with herprawn.

“Is she? I didnot notice.” He had to tamp down his pleasure at her obviousjealousy. She had not said the words he longed to hear from her yet,but he already knew she was in love with him.

“Then you mustbe blind, or you are lying.”

“I think it’sthe latter. It so happens that I am blinded by your beauty whenever Iam in your presence.”

“You are anidiot.”

“That I am.Where you are concerned, there is no need for jealousy, darling.”

She had to bite backa smile when he patted her hand.

“I will shovethis conch down your throat in another minute.” She warned.

“Darling, ifyou want to feed me, all you have to do is ask.”

He grinned when sheburst out laughing.
