“You’re mine now, Isolde.” I’ve never meant anything more in my life than the words I spoke.
She tilts her head. “It doesn’t work that way, Andrei.”
“It does for us.”
“Andrei!” a voice calls from the other side of the bedroom door. Fuck. It’s Viktor.
“He’ll be right there!” Izzy yells then turns back to me. “I’m gonna clean up and get dressed.”
“Izzy! Is that you!” a female voice calls next. “Are you all right? Let me in!” Little fists bang on the door.
“Marlena?” Izzy laughs. “I’m fine. I’ll be down in a second.”
I step back from her, letting my seed spill onto her thighs. I hate that she’s going to wipe it away, but she told me last night that she’s on birth control so keeping her full of my seed probably wouldn’t result in what I want.
Her.
I want her and everything that comes with.
A baby too.
A family.
“Hurry up!” Marlena yells.
I grind my teeth. “Dress, then come downstairs.” I pull my pajama bottoms back up.
“Okay.”
“We’re not done talking, Isolde.” I point a long finger at her.
“Sure.” She nods and I can practically see the wheels spinning in that beautiful mind of hers.
I’m about to close the bathroom door for her, but then remember something. “Don’t try to open the windows with any of the furniture.”
She grins. “We’ll see.”
Marlena rushes at me when I hit the living room. She grabs my arms, pulling me in for a tight hug before shoving me away.
“Are you all right?” She looks me over for injuries.
“I’m fine,” I assure her. “I’ve been texting you. Where have you been?” I ask her.
She frowns, looks over her shoulder at Viktor who’s wearing a matching frown, then back at me. “Busy.”
“What does that mean?”
“Nothing.” She waves a hand. “What’s happening, why are you stuck here, and why did that man bang down my door and have all my locks changed?”
I look over at Viktor.
He’s still frowning, but now his eyes have darkened, too. “Because a child could pick those locks you had on that apartment. I already told you that.”
“Come on, let’s go upstairs.” I grab her hand and start to pull. “You can help me pack.”
“Isolde.” Andrei’s voice follows us.
“Kidding, Andrei. I was kidding.” I hurry my steps until we’re jogging up them.
