Page 21 of A Long Time Coming

“Hey,” Nate teases.

“—then yeah, maybe I’d have an issue. They’re our best friends.” He turns to them. “You two are our best friends.”

I face Mel, reaching out and taking her hand. “Which is why we’ve never entertained anything like this before. I never even let myself think about you while I jacked off. I knew if I crossed the line, I’d never be able to dial it back.”

Mel steps from the cocoon of her husband’s arms and stops just in front of me, her robe falling open and exposing her left breast. She doesn’t stop to fix it, and I’m mesmerized by her body as she presses against me.

“You are the most respectful, considerate man I’ve ever met.”

“Again… hey,” Nate says.

“You’re a savage beast, Nathaniel Bryant. Don’t act like you don’t know that,” she snarks back at him with a grin.

“That’s true,” he says, winking at Wyatt.

“We’ll see about that later,” he shoots back with a sly smirk.

Nate’s smile disappears, and I barely hold in my laughter.

“But you,” she says to me, “you are kind and sensitive and loving and more supportive than I could ever hope for in a best friend. Why would I not want to build on my relationship with you? Especially now that I know how much I love it when Nate watches?”

“That’s also true,” Nate tells Wyatt.

“Can I kiss you?” I ask her, nearly coming apart at the seams to finally get the chance.

“You better,” she answers with a smile.

Before I can think about all the ways this could end badly, I lower my head and capture her mouth.

She gasps at the contact, and I groan with pleasure. This kiss delivers on every single dream and feeling I never let myself consider. It fulfills countless years of wishes I never let myself make.

And then her lips part and her tongue brushes against my bottom lip, sending me into orbit without a tether.

“Why the fuck is this so hot?” my husband says to nobody in particular.

Mel laughs against my lips, and my mouth migrates to her neck, to the hollow of her throat, and down into the valley between her breasts. The grunts and growls coming from me are such a departure from my norm as is my near-feral need for another human besides my husband.

Her hands dig into my hair, holding me to her, and Wyatt says, “I have something that might shock you guys.”

After the secrets we’ve unlocked tonight, that shouldn’t even be possible.

“I’ve imagined this a hundred times, but it’s never been this sexy in my mind.”

And I was wrong.

“You’ve imagined this? Me and Mel?” I ask, straightening and pulling her gorgeous body closer.

“Yeah… me?” Mel asks, confused because everyone who knows my husband knows he has zero bi-curiosity.

“I mean, there were also additional cast members,” he says slyly, glancing sideways at Nate.

“Oh, I’m sure,” Mel says, resting her head on my shoulder.

“Mel, sweetheart, don’t misunderstand me. You’re the most beautiful woman I know, but like I told Nate earlier, the only thing I’d ever want from you is permission.”

“Permission granted,” she says with a nonchalance she isn’t faking.

“Wait. What?” Nate says, finally joining the conversation.
