I've hated many people in my life, and the first who taught me hate was my father, but he wasn't the only one. Still, I've never felt such resentment toward a person as I do with Franco Fierro.

I let my touch speak for me, as if telling Killian how I feel. That he's okay. You're okay, and I'm here.

"Back to your little angel?" He stretches like a cat, still inside me. I never knew I would want something like this. With him, I do.

"Hey. Don't talk about her like that. She's the best thing in this world. And no, Mr. Hope gave us an assignment that's due. I need to do a photo shoot about the meaning of poverty. I had to work hard to get all the permissions I needed from the place."

"I'll take you," he says as if it's nothing.

"You? Killian Fierro will take me to the House of Dreams?"

"Sounds like a great place. The name is interesting."

I roll my eyes, and he pumps his hips into me. "Killer," I scold.

"I told you not to roll your eyes at me," he warns, moving again.

I let the feeling of fullness envelop me before coming back to the here and now. I really need to go. "It's an orphanage with a lie for a name. It's not the House of Dreams. It's the house of the forgotten. People like you and your family don't go there, even when you do charity work. The charity of the rich is about big parties and grand shows."

"Show me then."

I hug him because I feel like it's the right thing to do before asking again, "The deviant, Killian Fierro, is going to go to the House of Dreams with me?"

"Not only that, but I'll call the other deviants as well. Show us what you think we can't see." He moves again, making me forget my doubts for a second.

"I don't think… I know you can't see it, no matter how many times I show you. You can't see hunger if you don't feel it. It takes you by the gut and makes you lose your mind. It takes your sanity."

He doesn't speak right away, so I continue. "You know that when the settlers came to this country and took the lands of the indigenous people, they starved them just to prove that they were crazy and said that they were saving them?"

He nods because, of course, he knows. "Liam is a history and fact geek. He likes to talk about how bad the American settlers were, forgetting about what the British colony did to them. I told you, people like misery."

"Did you just call The Joker a geek, of all things?" He just shrugs as he moves himself deeper inside me. I moan from both discomfort and pleasure. I think I'm about to come again only from those tiny movements. I probably will if he keeps going.

"Stop it, or we'll never move from this bed. We'll be like Ares and Aphrodite."

"Meant to fuck for eternity with the most stunning goddess in front of all the other gods? I never saw his predicament as a punishment. Sign me up, Little Girl."

"Of course you wouldn't." I move with him and feel how hard he's getting by the second. "Killian, my Killer… Oh…"

"Yours as much as you're mine. I'll never let you go. You're mine, and that's a promise."

He flips us so that he's now on his back with me above him. "Now, ride me. Ride me and then show me your perspective of this world."

And I do. I fuck him. I claim him with my body. Just like he did with me.

"Promise me you will always be mine. Promise that you will never leave me."

I shudder as his fingers find my clit and begin massaging it as gently as ever. "I… I promise…" I say, sealing my fate.

Chapter thirty-one

Killian

When Maricela spoke about poverty, I thought of the slums like those shown in the movies, the ghettoes. And where I was right about the streets, I was wrong about the place itself. The House of Dreams is no more than a wish in this hellhole.

I wasn't happy to see Maricela walking over these streets as if she knew every corner and crevice of this place. And what I didn't expect was to see Raven hugging Julian and looking comfortable in these surroundings, as if she were born here.

Hell, if my uncle saw her here, I'd be dead meat. He didn't kill me for murdering his firstborn, but he'd definitely kill me for this.
