I shrug. "I just feel bad for him. I hope he's okay."
He tugs on my hand. "Let's go check on him, then. I'm sure Kai would love to see you face to face when you explain to him why someone who's never been to a sports game until recently, and a practice game no less, just happened to be sitting there mesmerized by any move we made."
I forgot how smart and astute Killian is. Of course, he saw right through me, and it's not like I tried to hide it. I wanted him to see me the second he lost his calm. I needed him to feel out of control, just for once in his life.
"I'm not going anywhere with you," I say, planting my feet and slipping a few inches as he tugs a little harder.
Killian takes me by the chin and angles my face toward his, forcing me to look him in the eyes. I don't know, and truly, I don't care what he wants from me, but when he looks at me like that, I want to give him all that he needs. Killian Fierro is a conundrum my body wants to solve, and my mind wants to harm.
"So, kiss me," he says. "Kiss me if you don't want me to tell Kai why he ran for his life after shitting his pants like that. He's not the forgiving type, and I don't want to fight my best friend to protect your delectable ass."
Raven's giggles are the only sounds in the field, as I'm sure everyone but her and Killian went to see how Kai's asshole is doing.
"You can't ask for a kiss for everything I do—"
I don't have the chance to finish my sentence as his lips fall on mine without permission, and I open for him, like the slut he calls me.
No, Maricela. Make him stop.
His tongue finds mine, and I melt a little bit more, allowing my body to take control.
"Little Girl, you taste like the gates of hell, full of sin and flames, and I want to burn down inside of you." His voice is lust incarnate.
"I will never be yours," I say with no conviction whatsoever, and he attacks me this time as if he wants to shut me up, to take it all and leave me just like the little mermaid was left in the original story written by the author, left as if she was nothing.
This time, I really try to fight him off me, and as I lift my leg to knee him again, he lets me go. Escaping me, the fucker.
"Thank you for the kiss, Little Girl. I can't wait for what you have planned for me next." He leaves as if he was never there as I scream into the now empty field.
After a long minute, my phone buzzes with a text.
Blondie Rav: Girl, it was so hot! Fuck him already, but not in front of me because, eww.
Me: I'm going to kill him and you.
Blondie Rav: Girl, messages can be used as evidence against you. The kiss was hot, chica.
Chapter fifteen
Maricela
Raven gives me another side-eyed glance. "Why are we standing at the main entrance to the school for twenty minutes now? We're going to be late, and Emanuel will not be pleased."
Fuck Emanuel. "I wanted to try my hand at painting. Don't you want to see my art?" I rub my palms together like a villain in a Disney classic.
"What have you done?"
"Me?"
My attempt to sound innocent fails miserably as Raven proclaims, "Yes, you."
"Tried my hand at art."
"Tell me," she says, stomping her expensive shoes into the dirt. Raven is too adorable for this world, I swear.
"Do you remember when you showed me how to make stencils?" She nods with her mouth agape. "Well, I made two of them, one for Killian's car and one for his motorcycle."
"You didn't." She takes me by the shoulders as she proceeds to shake me.
