“Okay… easy now… watch out… Easy over there.”

I rolled my eyes at Michael for being overly dramatic. It hasn’t even been five minutes, and he was acting as if I was going to crash.

“I know how to drive.”

“Tsk, you’re a woman.”

“What the hell do you mean by that?”

“I just mean that women suck at driving.” He shrugged.

Oh no, he fucking didn’t.

We were at a stoplight, and I got ready to give him a ride he will never forget. I pressed down on the accelerator a few times, making the car roar beautifully.

“Thaia, what are you doing?” He asked nervously. I smirked, waiting for the light to turn green while revving up the car. “Thaia–”

He didn’t get to finish and instead screamed when I slammed my foot on the accelerator, going insanely fast. I was laughing like a maniac as I weaved through the cars — loving every second of it.

“Slo- slow down!” Michael finally yelled.

I slowed down and laughed as I looked at him. He was all the way back in his seat, his feet on the dashboard and arms to the side, trying to hold on to something while the color in his face was completely drained.

“That will teach your sexist ass!” I let out a satisfied smile.

“You’re crazy!” Michael fumbled, and desperately tried to pull the seat belt over him.

I just laughed, speeding up and making him scream again in fear.

“Mmhh, this is so good!” I exclaimed as I stuffed pieces of meat in my mouth, savoring each bite. Michael’s surprise was to take me to his favorite Korean restaurant, and we were having the best Korean barbecue I have ever had in my life.

“Damn, it’s like listening to live porn with the sounds you’re making.” Michael flashed a cheeky smile.

“Why would you even say that?” I hissed at him. We were met with a look from the couple sitting next to us, and I gave them an awkward smile.

“It’s hot though. Keep going.” He grinned, completely unaware they heard him.

“Stop it.” I gave him a death stare, and he just laughed while chowing down his food.

“You know what, let’s get Soju Bombs.” Michael said and quickly placed an order.

“Did you forget you’re driving?” I asked. After that little stunt of mine, I wasn’t allowed to drive his car anymore. Actually, he said he would never get in any car if I was the one driving.

Such a big baby.

“We’re just getting one. Besides, we’re not going back right away. I know another place to get dessert. You will love it.” He smiled widely when Ji-Ho, a charming, petite older lady, placed the items for the Soju Bomb on the table.

I learned this restaurant was run by a family who adored Michael and treated him like one of their own.

“Thank you.” She looked at me a bit startled when I expressed my gratitude in Korean.

“Oh, you speak Korean too?” She asked in Korean with surprise.

“I don’t speak it that well. I’m still learning.” I replied with a smile.

“Ah, what do you mean? You speak Korean so well!” Ji-Ho complimented and looked at Michael with a twinkle in her eyes. “Michael, such a pretty girlfriend, and she speaks Korean well! I approve.” She winked with a thumbs-up and just walked away before either of us could say anything.

“Guess I’m your girlfriend for the day.” I joked to Michael with a laugh.
