“Sofia?” I tilted my head, pretending I had no idea who she was talking about.

“She worked for Damiano.” She clarified.

“Ah, Sofia, the maid! How is she? Has her nose healed well? And what about her hands? Poor girl didn’t know what she was up against.” I feigned a sad look with a shake of my head.

The smirk on her face vanished instantly and was replaced with a glare. She opened her mouth to say something, but stopped herself as Eleonora entered the store. Miciela immediately plastered on a fake smile. I couldn’t help but frown at her action, disgusted by how phony she was.

“Found anything you liked?” Eleonora asked as she approached me, not paying any attention to Miciela.

“I did! I thought of something like this?” I showed her what I thought would be great with the dress.

“Perfect! We will get you this one for tomorrow.” She said excitedly.

“Oh, is this not fitting for the wedding?”

“I have already chosen something special for you. Do you want to see it?”

I nodded, curious to see what it looked like. Mr. Felini opened the jewelry box, and I immediately shook my head.

“Eleonora, thank you, truly, but this is not something I can accept.” I protested. The entire necklace was crafted from diamonds, and a larger diamond served as a pendant.

“Nonsense! Damiano already told me you would try to protest, but it’s not going to work with me. It’s also a gift from me.” She smiled. I let out a small sigh and accepted my defeat.

We bid Mr. Felini goodbye, and as we stepped out of the store, a smile was immediately on my lips when I spotted Damiano. I quickened my pace until I was enveloped in his arms.

“Missed me?” Damiano smiled, cupping my cheek as his thumb lightly traced my skin.

“Always.” I rose on the tips of my toes until our lips met.

“Look at you, lovebirds.” Eleonora chuckled. I pulled away, blushing as I forgot we had a small audience.

I sensed another set of eyes on me, and when I turned, I found Miciela sending glares in my direction.

“Oh, and tell Sofia I said hi.” I winked, making my way out with Damiano’s arm around me.

Since I had to attend the event tomorrow, we had to spend the night at Nonna’s place. This also meant we still had to sleep in separate rooms because they didn’t know we were married yet.

I tossed and turned in bed, unable to find a comfortable spot. I let out a sigh of frustration and rolled out of bed. I grabbed the wrapped ring box, and since I had no pockets, I shoved it between my breasts.

I carefully opened the door and peeked out into the hallway to see if the coast was clear. It was quiet. I tiptoed through the dimly lit hallway and made my way downstairs. I stopped at the end of the staircase and looked around in case Nonna was up. I almost wanted to chuckle at how two adults had to sneak around to be with each other. But I was having fun with it right now as I played spy and tried to be light on my feet.

I hid behind furniture on my way until I reached Damiano’s room. Slowly, I pulled the handle down and opened the door. I even held my breath, making sure no sound could be heard as I sneaked inside.

The nightstand lamp was still on as Damiano lay in bed, his eyes closed. I bit down on my lip as I took in the mighty sight of him; shirtless and with his arms behind his head, making his biceps look deliciously huge.

“Damiano.” I whispered as I hovered over him, expecting him to open his eyes, but they remained closed. “Damiano.” I whispered again, but he didn’t respond.

My eyes slightly narrowed because I knew he wasn’t asleep. Then I let out a smirk.

“I’m horny.” Damiano’s eyes flew open, and he grabbed me so fast that I found myself lying underneath him. I had to bite down on my lip to stifle a laugh. “I knew you weren’t asleep!”

“Offer me your pussy and I will even wake up from death.” His lips brushed against mine before pulling my lower lip between his teeth. “Spread your legs, baby” His hand was already on its way down before I stopped him.

“I’m not horny. I just said it to get your attention.” I chuckled quietly. Damiano clicked his tongue at me, not impressed.
