I looked at Giovanni, finding him with a brow raised.

“What? He’s hot, and he’s got a nice ass.” I shrugged, giving one last glance at Damiano’s ass before focusing on what they were actually about to do.

I fixed my attention on Damiano, studying his posture and how he held his gun. He was standing slightly sideways as his entire body exuded relaxation. I wouldn’t be shocked if his idea of unwinding involved shooting targets.

Shortly after, they both fired their guns. Without a pause, they continued firing. Three bullets sailed through the air, hitting their target, and I watched in pure fascination. Once done, both of them tucked away their guns, and Giovanni retrieved the papers to declare the winner.

“That’s embarrassing.” Giovanni laughed.

“Who won?” I asked, a bit nervous. It was not that I lacked faith in Damiano, but this was coming down to the very last detail, and he did shoot almost carelessly while Luca remained focused.

Giovanni presented the papers, and I noticed that one hole was just outside the red dot.

Luca snatched them from Giovanni’s hand to examine them closely.

“One more round.” Luca tossed the papers away while Gio patted his shoulder in comfort.

“I think you’ve embarrassed yourself enough.” Damiano said, crossing his arms and smirking at him.

“By the way, I would like it in cash.” I taunted.

For the first time, the look in his eyes showed me he wanted to shoot my ass.

“That’s enough for today.” I told her after watching her fire the last bullet. Althaia let out a breath and rolled her shoulders to relieve the tension. She still had to learn to loosen up her body.

I watched as she confirmed there were no more bullets in the gun and the magazine before securing the safety. I was impressed. She proved to be a quick learner and adept with her hands. I had no doubt that she would excel in no time.

“You did well.” I praised her.

“You think so?”

“Better than Arianna when I was teaching her.” I remarked.

“Really? I am so going to throw that in her face. Who knows, maybe I will even be better than you. Better watch out, Damiano. I am coming for your throne.” Althaia winked.

“Keep dreaming big, my love.” I teased, grabbing the gun from her and placed it back on the table.

“You never know.”

“I do. And no, you can’t try it.” I said firmly before she could voice her question. She looked at me with her brows slightly raised in surprise.

“What are you, a mind reader today?”

“You were eyeing the machine gun like it was a piece of chocolate cake— almost salivating too.” I crossed my arms as she laughed.

“But I would look badass with this one!” She insisted.

“You wouldn’t. It will have you flying back on your ass from the recoil.”

“I feel like you’re exaggerating.”

I shook my head.

“I will show you.” I picked up the M249 SAW and went back to the shooting range. This one was considerably heavier and louder than what she had been practicing with.
