Dom’s hands were placed low, almost at her hips, as she explained another method of how to get out of a hold. A bit of the corner of her mouth would curl up whenever Dom held her. It was obvious to see he was holding her like he knew her body.
“I see it now!” I whispered with a grin. Arianna had refused to let anyone know who she was seeing, keeping her man a mystery.
“Aw, they’re cute together, don’t you think?” I smiled, feeling happy for Arianna.
Damiano turned to look at me with a blank face.
“No.” He disagreed immediately.
“Don’t be like that. At least it’s someone you know.” I tried to lighten his mood.
“Someone who works for me and didn’t ask for my approval.” He curled his lip in displeasure.
“Right, because it’s so easy to talk to someone’s big brother, who also just happens to be a Mafia Boss, and say they want to date their little sister.” I raised a brow at him.
“Hey, you two! Stop talking and listen.” Arianna scolded us.
“I was listening!” I said quickly and looked at her.
“Really? Care to show what I just did?”
Before I could come up with an excuse, Damiano swiftly rose from his seat and positioned himself at the opposite end of the mat, facing Dom.
“Let me have a go at it.” Damiano said calmly and rolled his neck from side to side while keeping his eyes on Dom.
In an instant, Damiano swiftly ensnared Dom’s arm, immobilizing it, and unleashed a rapid barrage of punches to his face. Dom tried to shield himself with his other arm, but Damiano deftly turned him around and executed a painful twist on Dom’s arm, locking him in a merciless headlock.
Dom struggled vigorously to break free, but Damiano continued, intensifying the grip around Dom’s neck. Not being able to hold his ground anymore, Dom tapped Damiano on the arm in surrender, only to find Damiano tightening his hold further.
Fuck, he’s going to kill him.
“Damiano, enough! You’re going to kill him if you don’t let go!” I said in panic and tried to push him away, but his huge figure wasn’t even budging as he kept tightening his hold. Dom was struggling and couldn’t breathe anymore!
“Damiano!” I snapped, and he finally loosened his grip. Dom fell to the floor and gasped for air. I went to check on him to see if he was okay and let out a breath of relief when he was.
“Why did you do that?” I asked Damiano with a scowl on my face. He ignored me, his gaze focused on someone else. I turned around to see Arianna, her hands clenched tightly, casting a furious glare at Damiano.
Without a word, Arianna stormed out of the gym, the door slamming shut behind her.
“Do you think he will make it out alive?” Cara asked as we had our lunch in the garden.
“I hope so.” I sighed, feeling sorry for Arianna and Dom.
I’ve tried to talk to Damiano about it, but he wasn’t willing to listen. We went back and forth until he finally called Arianna and Dom into his office to talk to them. I was praying for Dom because Lorenzo was in there with them, and I just hoped they would try to have an open mind.
“Poor Dom. He really was about to die there.” Cara said, also feeling sorry for him.
“I get they are protective of their baby sister, but to choke the man like that.” I shook my head. “By the way, I haven’t had the chance to ask you, but it seems like it’s going well between you and Lorenzo?”
“It is.” Cara smiled. “I do like him. A lot, actually. At first, he was just my way to get away from everything at home, but now I can see us being happy together.” She said, her face lighting up with genuine happiness.
My heart warmed as I smiled, seeing how her eyes sparkled when she talked about him. She deserved to be surrounded by never-ending happiness.
“I’m so happy for you! And he better treat you right!”
“Oh, trust me, he is.” Cara wiggled her brows at me, and I let out a small laugh.
“Good. Or else I will have to beat Lorenzo’s ass! Which wouldn’t even be fair to him because he wouldn’t stand a chance against me.” I snickered, and Cara hid her laugh behind her hand.
