Page 90 of The Beta's Bargain

Falcon gets to his feet and stops in front of me, his eyes are dark, but his expression is deadly serious. The graveness almost makes me afraid. He feels things so deeply, my alpha, but he never lets anyone see. Well, he’s letting me now. “We want you back. We’ve shown you our intentions.”

“And if I come back, will you leave her alone?” I plead. I'm scared for her.

“That ship has sailed,” Falcon explains softly. “You wouldn’t have us without her. Now, in order to have you, we’re going to take her.”

I blink at him as the crushing realisation that these alphas, that I, will destroy her life. “I…”

“Come on, Dylan, we know you’re in love with her. We know about how she saved you on the streets and your midnight activities. You love her, and if she means that much to you…we’ll give her to you,” Gray says easily, his face serene, his eyes like ice chips of green, without regret. He’s serious, he will give her to me. He means it.

“She’s not a thing!” I gasp out, appalled. “She’s a person with dreams. With a life.”

“And we can give her a family, power, wealth. All her dreams will be attainable.” Silas explains soothingly. He reaches out to me, but I duck away from his hand. How can they be so, so, manipulative? This is wrong, isn’t it? Silas makes an irritated noise and leans on the bar, his face is set in marble. He’s decided as well. How did I miss this? She will hate us. Won’t she? My head is reeling. I don’t even know what I’m arguing anymore.

“She deserves more-”

“What? Like love? Like devotion?” Gray snarls and pushes past Falcon so he’s walking me backwards. “She will have those, too. It’s easy to fall in love with the woman our omega loves. You took our choice away from us. You ran. You chose her.”

“You’re still mad at me?” I spit out and shove him. “You’re the ones having secret meetings with Vienne Hastings about female omegas and heirs to the future empires. You’re the ones who had a female omega in your suite, able to kiss you.”

Gray’s ire is replaced by a look of complete exhaustion. “We were stalling for time with Vienne. Getting her off your back so you could have a chance.”

“You insulted everything I am. Does your mother even know who I am?” I snap at Silas.

Silas hesitates and shakes his head. “No one but we know your identity. But we love you.”

“How can love exist without trust? Without honesty and respect?” I throw at them. “How manipulative are you three that you think you can force me back by stealing the woman I love?”

“That’s not what-”

“I don’t want to hear it!” I roar.

Falcon growls. “We will court the beta, and we will court you. We will have you both. It no longer matters what the plan is. She is…ours now.”

I curl my upper lip. “Yeah, you probably will, me because I had no choice due to my biology, and she because she couldn’t withstand your wealth.” My voice is bitter. “But I’m not going to let her walk into it blind.”

Silas puts his hand over his eyes and whispers a curse. Grayson throws himself onto the couch and glowers at his hands, but Falcon just stares, a challenging lift to his eyebrow, all but daring me to make do with my promise.

“Tell her then. Tell her we want her and we don’t intend to lose.”

I whirl and slam my hand on the button, but then Falcon is slamming me against the wall, pinning me in place. His scent wraps around me, the feel of him holding me down has my cock hardening painfully in my pants. The whining growl that comes out is almost embarrassing.

He leaves a scorching, open-mouthed kiss on my neck and then eases back. Somehow, his hands manage to get under my shirt. My head falls back. His nails graze over my nipples, then pinch and pull them. My hips rock. I’m panting, desperate, all around me, all I can smell is caramel.

The doors open and tear the cloud of seduction away from me. I throw myself free, hitting the wall of the lift and staring back at him.

He spreads his hands and shrugs. “I’ll do anything. Whatever it takes. I’ll have you both now, omega.”

I understand what he’s saying. It’s terrifying.

“You’re never letting me go, are you?”

Falcon smiles. “Not in this lifetime or the next, my omega.”

I shiver at the promise in each of their eyes at his words. “I’m not ready.”

Falcon’s smile fades. “We can wait for you.”

The relief those words give me soothes the sharp edges of fear. The doors close, and I fight myself. I want to get back off, go to them, get their bites, have them claim me. Make me forget the pain of their betrayal.
