Page 84 of Lorcan's Obsession

My mouth dropped open, and my lashes fluttered like a bird losing flight. I searched his face for any sign of insincerity or cruel humor, but only clarity and candor shone in his silver eyes.

Lorcan moved my hand over his steady-beating heart.

"I carry you in here. I never thought I’d fall for anyone in my lifetime until I met you; a brilliant smokeshow who knows what she wants and sucks my cock until my soul leaves my body.”

I released the breath I'd been holding and laughed at the last statement he made. This man knew me. He knew that dropping the L-word on me was a double-edged sword. Once I relaxed in his embrace, he continued, “Tristen, I’m going to wait for you. Until you are ready to love me back. To let me steal your heart the way you’ve stolen mi—”

I slammed my lips over his in a desperate kiss, ignoring the pain and coppery taste to show him just how much he meant to me. I didn't need to hear more affirmations for my heart to burst wide open and accept this man's love. His words gave me new life, rebirthing me into a beautiful creature worthy of his love. I poured everything that was left of my heart into that kiss until a stray tear rolled over my cheek.

I sniffled, wiping it away quickly.

"Everything okay, my love?" Lorcan's voice was thick with emotion. He could see me. The real me. And right now, he had just shifted my entire world with three simple words.

"I will be."

A whoosh of air escaped my lips as I did my best to steer the conversation away from the matters of the heart. I didn't know if Lorcan would still love me the same if he knew everything about me, but right now, he was hard as a rock beneath me, so I focused on that.

“As much as I want to take care of this,” I grasped his dick in a vice, “I want you to get ready for work.”

He frowned. “Can’t I take a day off to celebrate that I have a girlfriend?”

“Nope. But she might be waiting for you tonight wearing strawberry whipped cream on her tits and pussy.”

A mischievous grin spread on his lips. “I’m definitely on board with that.”

“Good. Now, go prove to everyone that you earned this job. I know how important it is to you, how hard you worked, and how much you care about everyone who works there. You are going to be brilliant, baby.”

“You have so much faith in me.”

“I do.”

“And I love you for it.” Lorcan pushed me onto my back and supported himself on his elbows above me. He reached for my phone on the side table. “Unlock it. I need to update my new status before I go to work.”

“You are so cheesy.” I rolled my eyes, but I obliged him. He began scrolling down my contacts list.

“‘Team Scar & Dom?’ Who’s that? They called you like ten times yesterday.”

My heart dropped into my stomach. Shit. Fuck. “Ten times? Yeah. It’s just Dom and his friend.”

“Dom and this…Scar person must be super close to have a group contact on your phone. They a thing?”

God, far from it. I laughed lightly. “They’re very close, for sure.”

Lorcan grunted, already moving past it now that they weren’t competition. Silently, I sighed in relief. That was too close…

"Okay, updating contact: My Future Boyfriend to…My Boyfriend. Thank you for your service. You can have your phone back.”

I couldn’t help but stare at Lorcan’s contact name for a few minutes. Even though this was all just in good fun and to placate Lorcan after the disaster yesterday, it still sent a thrill through my spine to see the word boyfriend in my contacts. It was the first time that I’d gone all giddy with butterflies over a guy. Would this actually stick, or would I be able to play it off in a couple of weeks?

Lorcan planted a warm kiss on my cheek and rolled out of bed. “What are your plans for the day?” he asked, striding naked to his massive closet to choose an outfit. “Going to class?”

I didn’t miss the twinge of possessiveness in his voice. Lorcan was still worried about Fayed.

“No, I don’t have school today. I’m meeting Dom and Selena for hot chocolate in an hour.”

He walked right back, still naked. A foxy smile played on his lips. “Then there’s time for a shower.”

Lorcan scooped me from the bed and set me in his gray-marbled shower.
