“Wanna leave?”

“No. This place is magical. I want to experience it with you. But fair warning, my feet will not touch any glass floor, and I’m not going outside to the hot tub."

"That’s fine. And don't worry about walking; yours truly will be happy to carry you around, even to the bathroom."

"And yours truly will need you to wait in there with her."

"A chance to see you naked? Forever, yes."

"Slow down, pervert!" I burst out laughing, flirty butterflies taking flight in my stomach.

"Oh, you wound me, my little exhibitionist."

“Hey! I take offense there, mister. I was there with my— No. Stefan was in the wrong place.”

“Uh, uh, uh. Let’s back this up a little. You were there with your who?”

“You.”

Lorcan burst into hearty laughter, dropping his large frame on the bed and crawling to me.

“Admit it.” He pulled a wisp of chocolate hair from my messy bun and twirled it between his fingers. “Admit it, Tristen. I’ve crawled under your skin and infected you like a virus. You can’t purge me from this beautiful mind, and I’m all you think about night and day.”

He was uncomfortably close to the truth. I’d almost blurted out, “My man.” Just like I had at Mario’s restaurant. But I was not about to stroke his oversized ego.

“Pfft. Don’t flatter yourself. There are lots of other things I think about.”

“Like what?”

“School, work, online shopping.”

“Those answers are for mundane people. Not you. Not this sexy siren who admitted to masturbating to thoughts of a stranger in an open bar.”

“We’re never forgetting that?”

“How could I forget when it's all I think about when I stroke myself until I spray all over my bathroom walls? To hear the woman I’d been dreaming about admit she came for me without me touching her—Do you know what that did to me? Do you have any idea how much power you hold over me?”

“Nngh.” I groaned into the fluffy, white pillow.

“Truth too much for you?”

I whipped my head around to drive sense into him. “No, baby. You can’t just say that and expect me not to demand you fuck me right now!”

Lorcan froze. “Okay,” he murmured. His eyes sparkled as he leaned back against the headboard and pulled me to his chest.

“You’re not gonna argue with me?” I asked.

“No.” He cleared his throat. “You just called me baby for the first time. And I intend to savor it.”

“I did?”

“You did.”

I laughed against his chest. “Lorcan, meet Lucy Cannon. My friends say I blurt out the truth when I’m nervous. And they call me that hideous name sometimes.”

“I think Lucy Cannon and I are going to be best of friends.”

Not if I had anything to say about it. The last thing I wanted was for Lorcan to know and judge me about what happened seven years ago. I turned the tables on him.
