Page 80 of His Wild Mate

He didn't question it, but I could feel his pain as intensely as my own as we drove home in silence.

As we pulled up to the house I gasped.

“No!” I shouted.

Emmett braked quickly and looked around.

“What's wrong?”

I pointed to the house. Sprayed painted across the front of it in giant letters read “She's mine!”

This could not be happening. I hadn't had a stalker in over a year. Why now? I just wanted this nightmare to end.

He growled and jumped out of the car the second he had it in park. I started to follow him.

“Stay in the car,” he barked.

As tears slid down my cheeks, I silently obeyed.

He did a check around the house and then pulled out his phone to check the footage as he ran back to the car.

“James, it was so loud at Kate's that I missed the alert. He was here and he's getting ballsy.”

“What happened?” I could hear James ask.

“There's graffiti all over my goddamn house. I sent you some pictures.”

“Shit! He's getting more aggressive. Did you call Thomas yet?”

“No, I called you first. He's not here. I checked the property. There was no break-in this time. Outside only. He had to have known we weren't here.”

“Okay, stay put. I'm on my way.”

“Like hell. I'm packing up and taking off for a few days. I have to get her away from here, away from him.”

“With Thomas's order still in place, he can’t touch her, Emmett.”

“I found a way around his orders, this asshole could too.”

“No touching, no harming.”

“She's scared. He's harming her. Plus, if he's half as angered by the order as I am, then we've got a big problem. And I'm not willing to risk a breach in his order at her expense.”

“If it were Katherine, I'd do the same. Keep me posted on where you're at and stay in contact while you're away. Do you have any idea where you'll go?”

“I'll figure it out.”

He hung up the phone and dialed another number.

“Stay here and lock the doors. I'm going to pack a bag and then we’re going to get the hell out of here for a few days, okay?”

I nodded. “Okay.”

“Hey Thomas, it's Emmett. We have a big problem,” I heard him say as he walked to the house.

Tears crested and ran down my cheeks as I swiped them away.

I suddenly had a horrible feeling I was being watched again. Drying my eyes, I looked around, channeling my wolf's eyes to see in the shadows as the sun was setting in the sky.
